I cant start Mozilla Firefox, terminating process doesnt work either.
Hey there,
today i used my browser completely normal, everything worked just fine. After i started doing my Windows Updates though and also updated my Anti Virus Software, Mozilla doesn't start anymore, I cant end the task/process either, not even via system32 cmd command (taskkill /IM firefox.exe /t /f) because it tells me that I don't have the necessary access to do that.
I need to fully restart my Computer to kill the process. When I start it in safe mode via windows+r run command (firefox -safe-mode) it started up once, and now it doesnt do that either.
I really don't know what exactly caused this and it started skyrocketing my blood pressure after I reinstalled it 4 times now and it still didn't working.

Hi Yuzumi, I haven't seen a report on Kaspersky problems with Firefox 71 in recent days, but I can't keep up with all the threads, so it could be a very new issue.
Two issues identified for Firefox 71 on Windows so far are:
(1) Old files from Comodo security software
Firefox may crash instantly with older versions of this file present:
C:\Windows\system32\iseGuard64.dll
(2) Old Logitech camera driver software
I don't know the file name to look for but you would want to update the software. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1274407
Thanks for your quick response,
I indeed don't use Comodo Security Software, but I used to use a very old Logitech Webcam + its Drivers of course, I uninstalled it now and I will see if it works, if it doesn't I will be back soon.
This didnt solve it either, but i got into safe mode and uninstalled every single addon i had installed, the only one thats remaining is Kaspersky Internet Protection, and i dont know how to "uninstall" that nor can i by simply uninstalling it in the browser.
It's a good sign that Firefox starts and runs in Firefox's Safe Mode (I assume you mean Firefox's Safe Mode and not Windows Safe Mode).
Since the Kaspersky extension is externally maintained by Kaspersky, Firefox doesn't show a Remove button on the Add-ons page, but you could disable it.
Yes I mean Firefox Safe Mode, but im still at the same point that I was at 2hours ago. I cant use the browser at all.
I don't see how I can "remove" the Addon entirely either so im stuck with this problem at the moment, maybe even forced to use another browser for the future.
Hi Yuzumi, you can start Firefox in its Safe Mode, and remove extensions, but browsing doesn't work? Are there specific error messages?
I now uninstalled the Windows Update from yesterday, now both Chrome and Firefox both start again for some reason.
This is a Video showing post-uninstalling problems.
This problem is afaik fixed for now.
Forgot to add this : Picture Showing that no Addons are installed nor active
Nevermind, Firefox crashed and the problem occured again, im really getting pissed of by this.
It shows the following Click
It basically says "the file could not be read" and that the process crashed due to a problem that occured. Unfortunately the Crash Reporter cant send the Crash Report.

Download the relevent 32 or 64 bit release of the previous version from the links underneath, select as per your language
32 bit at https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/70.0.1/win32/ 64 bit at https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/70.0.1/win64/
Should work fine, once installed go options disable automatic firefox updates for time being.
Hope it helps
By the way do you have a AMD ATI graphics chip/card ?
