i can not get firefox developer edition to open. it flashes up in task manager and disappears.

it has been working fine and then stopped working a few weeks ago.

i when i try to open (even in administrator mode) it, i see it pop up in task manager and then it immediately disappears.

here's what i have tried:

i uninstalled and reinstalled firefox developer 64 bit edition.

I uninstalled, turned off my firewall, and tried to reinstall firefox developer 64 bit edition.

i renamed the old firefox data folder to something else, uninstalled, turned off my firewall and reinstalled firefox developer 64 bit edition.

i tried running firefox.exe -P (to create a new profile) but that won't open either.

i uninstalled, looked for other files with firefox in the name, and tried to delete them. although i am the administrator, it would not let me because it needed administrator rights.

any other ideas?
