I checked with Roland and he said that this person might has issue with his hardware. There's no way Firefox can destroy Graphic driver.

Thanks for your efforts,

If this is the case can you please tell me how I can remove firefox altogether so I can revert to another earlier browser or another browser altogether.

As I said originally I cannot uninstall Firefox to see if it was a corrupt install and another new install would solve the problem.

I am also having problem with windows explorer as it often keeps failing when trying to access associate file system. This was never a problem before the latest update so I do not understand why it has caused so many problems.

Follow these instructions; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1271021#answer-1260272

If there is a problem, start the Computer in Safe Mode.

Hi Thanks again for your help

I tried uninstalling firefox both ways safe mode included but I could not remove it, that was the main reason for my initial request.

Unless I am doing something wrong, the link you suggest I use to follow instructions only opens this page again not how to uninstall firefox

Best regards Neil

From the sounds of it, you are having hardware issues on your computer that just happened to occur at the same time that Firefox updated. None of the things that you are describing can possibly happen from Firefox.

I'd suggest doing the following:

Again, I'm sorry you're having these issues, but it isn't a Firefox problem from what you've described.

Can you give more detail about what issues you experience ?

Hi Thanks for your input, i was thinking it might be a hardware issue because last up date slowed it a bit. unfortunately I cannot uninstall firefox and system restore doesnt clear it either

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Hi Thanks again for your assistance I have run malwarebytes and adw cleaner, I will do the others next week as I am away this weekend. Just one question though is it safe to have so many anti virus/spyware programmes on at once? I was told this could cause more problems than get solved ?

more options

You should only scan with one of the programs at the time. Not all scanners detect the same malware, so if one misses it then another might catch it.

Thank you for the reply Tried them all now and the problem still persists, Still cannot uninstall firefox either

Thanks for the help. Not sure if I should try this as I am running Windows 7 and do not know if it would cause more issues than it would solve.

also the fact that I cannot uninstall Firefox leads me to believe that the problem is deeper rooted than usual fixes

If you are sure it would be OK for Windows 7 I could tryt it but because it specifies 10 not sure if it is a good idea

what do you mean by discount, After installing do I have to purchase the software before I can use it to see if it helps ?

more options

No, please don't download that tool.

Did you run a memory test, the system file check and check dish as I suggested?

Hi neilbowls, I don't know where Dinushi was pasting from, or whether that might be an advertisement of some kind disguised as personal advice. I agree you should stick with tools compatible with Windows 7.

For uninstalling Firefox, did the helper.exe method listed in the article work any better: Uninstall Firefox from your computer? Are there any new error messages?

more options

In the Control Panel window, click the Uninstall a program link under the Programs section. From the list of currently installed programs, select Mozilla Firefox. To begin the uninstall, click the Uninstall button at the top of the list. In the Mozilla Firefox Uninstall Wizard that opens, click Next.
