Prior to the last update, whenever I had finished or cancelled downloading a file, I would go to the "All Downloads" page and click "Clear All Downloads" to get rid of any that were done and they would go away. Now they don't anymore. Is there a different way of doing this?

The places.sqlite file contains your History and Bookmarks. And it looks like it is corrupted.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

The browser should then create a new place.sqlite and recover your bookmarks from the backup files. Note: Your history is not backed up and will be lost.

Thanks, that cleared the list, until I downloaded another file. Do you happen to know if this is a bug that Mozilla knows about and plans to fix?

There are many possible causes. Removing the file corrects it.

Actually, the problem isn't resolved. Yes, the list of files that were there before are gone, but now I have a new list that doesn't go away when I hit the "Clear All Downloads" button. So, yes, it does remove the files currently in the download list. But, I don't want to have to go through this procedure every other day to remove the new files in the list. So, my guess is, this means the bug is still there. So, no, it did not solve the problem.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
