Trouble with saving emails

Typed email and saved it...At some point, it kept spinning as if it was saving? That went on for 1/2 hour++ I could not leave Firefox, unless I said...discard, save or keep writing. I tried to keep writing, but my email message was blank..tried to save and the wheel, as I said, kept spinning and spinning. I called AOL...and they suggested another server...So I went to Safari...and IT WORKED!!!!

I know my macbook pro is out of date, but still...........there are so many things that I can access on Safari, that I cannot access or even move on Firefox?

Actually, even though my Macbook Pro is older....it is quite interesting that I can still use Safari...but not Firefox, to access things, and resolve issuesl.... Very distressing and disconcerting, since I thought FIrefox would help....but thus far on certain issues- NO Linda
