Typing with white font is stupid. Now, how do I get back to the firefox start page with only the logo and google search engine box?

Well this types in black.

Sept 6, 2018, terminated firefox session, ate lunch, came back, relaunched firefox and got an update. When that was finished the start page had completely changed. Manged to find my book marks but can't get rid of the opening start page and get it back to the old mostly blank firefox page with the icon and the google search engine bar below it. How can I get rid of the new page and back to the old original firefox opening start page. If I want to start on a news aggregate I can do that myself. I don't need those distractions when I am trying to work.

I tried to upload a photo but apparently this page does not support .phg and now it's locked so all of this will probably get lost in the old bit bucket. You may find it on the web. It's 2017-11-17-01-34-40-d3cb7d.png.

I like firefox because of its simplicity. If I want useless glitz I can always launch Microsoft Internet Explorer.

hi Freeland_Dave, the old home page is no longer existing in this form, but you can disable any portions of the new one you don't like or need through the cogwheel icon on the top right of the page: Customize your Firefox New Tab page

Philipp You, as well as many other technical people in the online support business, make the incorrect judgment that you are speaking to technical people who do this sort of thing all of the time. I once had this problem as a senior level space communications system engineer. I had to learn how to speak at their level of understanding and comprehension so that I could get information across to them.

Now, could you send me a step by step script on what you are talking about without all of the technospeak babble that most people do not comprehend?

I recommend that you script it or even make a step by step video so that you can send it to others that no doubt are experiencing the same frustrations that I am when they are attempting to work other more important issues?

The idea here is not only to solve my problem but the problems that others experience as well. It would be greatly appreciated.

Also, it would be a better idea to advertise these things instead of doing it like Microsoft that just opens all of the settings and then letting their user base puzzle it all out. I came to firefox because of simplicity. Now it seems that is no longer the case. We get use to a graphical user interface, come to work and all of it has changed. Really puts a crimp in our productivity.
