How do I stop the annoying ID check at the start of FireFox?

Just a guess, but that sounds like a laptop and the location of that laptop is different than the last time that laptop & Firefox was used, along with using the Sync service. And that log in is for Sync and based upon a different location.
IOW, the laptop is located where it is expected to be based upon the last use.
Is that the situation?
Or am I reading too much into what you said?

What do you mean by an ID check? Can you tell us exactly what you see?
Also, please update to Firefox 62. Update Firefox to the latest release

Yes I did, however I'm still not clear on what you're seeing, so a screenshot will help better understand what the issue is. It doesn't seem to be a Firefox message so I want to see where the message is coming from.
Also, taking a look through your extensions, You appear to have some that are possibly malicious. Please go to www.malwarebytes.com, and download and install Malwarebytes (it's free). run a scan and remove anything it finds.
Are you using Sync with 2FA (two-factor authentication)?
Hi LAURELJOAN, you don't need to sign in to use Firefox for browsing, so let's see if we can figure out why you get that prompt. Can you tell whether it's:
- a prompt to sign into your Firefox Account (an account used with the Sync service)
- a prompt required by your home/startup page to log into the page
One way to see what is affected is to cancel that prompt without doing the "two-factor authentication" and see what you can do after that.
If it's still a mystery, a picture (screenshot) might be worth 1000 words in getting more specific.
