I am getting more and more questionable emails in my Spam folder. Today it is up to 62 messages. How can I stop this?
I am getting more and more spam messages in my spam folder every day. This morning there were 62! I am a Mac user using the Firefox browser . Last week I started using Firefox's Private Window, but that has not helped. How do I stop this? The email address in question is [email removed by mod] but this Support System registration would not let me enter that email address- kept saying "Use a valid email address"! If I cannot solve this problem I shall have to close that account. I am attaching a screenshot taken just minutes ago. Of course it cannot show all 62 spam messages. Zoelle is my name, but this Support System would not accept that either so I am using Zoell. This system says it is "uploading images" however, it's been "Uploading" for over five minutes!!! Is this a joke??? Is there any human being at the other end of this page???????? I feel as though I have fallen into cyberspace hell.

I'm sorry you've been getting lots of spam, however, that's just an effect of the internet. The more you use your e-mail address, the greater the chances that spammers will add it to their list. Once you are on one spam list, you'll be on all of them. There are a few things you can do, such as be careful about who has your e-mail (you posted it to this forum thread, which is a public forum and often scraped by spammers looking for e-mail address, so you should be a bit more careful), don't open spam e-mails (they often have trackers in them to see if you opened the e-mail, if you do they know it's a real e-mail address) and never reply or unsubscribe from them.
My advice, let the spam filters do their job and empty your spam box. It doesn't hurt anything.

Thank you very much, Tyler. I usually never just post my email addresses, but I must say that I found the Mozilla Registration form that needs to be completed before one can ask a question quite confusing. It would not accept the email address in question, then it would not accept the password I had reset. I wasn't sure if my question would even "take" or what email it would wind up in. However, your point is well taken. I am happy to hear that spam in my spam folder will not hurt anything. I will just keep emptying them. Is there a way to delete my question from this public forum now that you have answered it? I have responded to the system that my problem has been solved. Once that is done does the question get deleted?
The question won't be deleted, it will remain and if someone else is ever experiencing the same issue hopefully they find this forum post to save them the time of having to file a new question!
Never post any personal information because an adware robot could find it, and start sending you all kinds of spam. This includes e-mail, phone, and home information.
