I have just upgraded to Firefox 52.7.3 64 bit and all my bookmarks and history have disappeared!

The upgrade was from the previous 64 bit version. Also, have tried to the restore option but always get the message "Unable to process backup file" - extremely frustrating.

What about the rest of your profile? passwords, settings . . . . Look on your desktop. HI. sorry to hear that. Please check on your desktop for a folder called OldFirefoxProfile. If it is there it maybe possible to rescue some data.

Also please check to see if Firefox just created a new profile and that your old one is still there :

As to Restore, no idea what you are trying to restore from. Win7 ? If so it will not work. If your Profile is not in the places I mentioned then some how it was determined it was corrupted and was deleted. fyi for the future :
