Can't easily navigate tabs in FF Quantum & Missing Status Bar

What happened to tab navigation? In FF 56 I could navigate through my tabs by clicking on their title once to highlight them, then use the arrow keys to navigate through them either left or right. In FF 58 (Quantum) I have to use Ctrl+Tab, CTRL+<0-9>, or keep tapping the tab keyboard key until it lets me cycle through the tabs with the arrow keys. This is clunky to me and inconvenient.

Is there some way I can get this functionality back? It really was much easier clicking a tab's title with the mouse then using arrow keys to navigate through the dozen or so tabs I usually have, especially if my other hand is taking notes on paper or something.

Second is that the lack of a status bar in FF 58 disturbs me. The closet thing to it is a little thing that appears in the corner of the window when I hover over a link. I used to use Status-4-Evah for a while, but that's not going to work in FF 58 unless it can be re-written in the new WebExtension stuff. So I'd like to ask if anyone is working on anything similar to bring back the status bar/Add-on Bar.
