I am switching everything over to a mac and using safari where I do NOT have this problem. Also, Firefox does not block adds even though I want them blocked. I HATE FOREFOX now. I used to use it and like it but NO MORE

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

What about the rest of your data? Anything else lost or changed?

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

A user once reported this issue. turned out an add-on was the cause.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Try to rename/remove the secmode.db file in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
