I have my print options set for black and white, but when using Firefox, I can only print in color. What's wrong?

I have a MacBook Pro and called Apple. They walked me through all the Mozilla troubleshooting tips to fix the problem but my emails which I want to print in black and white always print in color. The print settings are in black and white, yet the page only prints in color. Pages still print in color even if I print in preview PDF.

I do not have this problem with Safari.

Your support forum shows that others are having the same problem but there are is no solution to this printing issue.
