Can't find a simple solution to preventing Firefox 49 from creating duplicate bookmarks everytime I add a bookmark.
At least since updating to v.49, whenever I add a bookmark to a folder or sub-folder, I get a duplicate in unsorted bookmarks. The duplicate entry cannot be deleted (delete option is grayed out). Deleting the entry in the folder/sub-folder deletes both entries. Recreating the bookmark in the folder/sub-folder just recreates the duplicates.
Solutions on Mozilla support involve deleting control files, modifying the registry, removing firefox, re-installing, etc. l-- sorry going through something like that is not why I have a firefox browser. Is there a simple solution to this problem? Is the firefox community working on preventing these duplicates in future releases? Is there at least a workaround?
BTW: I don't think this is a Sync problem. The machine I sync with is powered down 90% of the time.

Found a solution or at least a circumvention: I noticed the there were two "Recently Bookmarked" folders, one of which was grayed out. However the contents of this folder were displayed making them appear as unsorted bookmarks. ( I am guessing that this has to do with Firefox 49 changes to this function.)
Solution: Right clicking the grayed out folder and choosing "Hide Recently Bookmarked" removed the grayed out folder and the display of its contents. The other "Recently Bookmarked" folder (the one that was not grayed out) continues to appear and its contents continues to be displayed when the pointer hovers over its icon.
