When there is a live stream on Facebook, I cannot view it using Firefox, though I can hear it fine. I do not have any add-on's installed. I can see it fine in Internet Explorer and have reinstalled Adobe Flash just to see and still nothing.

Hi, try opening the Help Menu and then select the "Restart with Add-ons Disabled" option. Check if this works.

All Add-on's disabled and no picture. I tried this on 2 other computers without add-on's and same issue. Facebook's Live Streaming is the only time Firefox does not show my the video. If the video has been recorded already, then I can view it just fine. Youtube or anything else plays without a problem. There must be something Firefox is/isn't doing that is not showing a live feed.

I have this problem too! It drives me nuts.

I have the same problem... I get the sound but not the picture on FB Live stream.

I have disabled all the add-ons and restarted in safe mode - not worked I have un-ticked 'enable hardware acceleration' on the flash player settings Firefox and flash player are both up-to-date it works fine using Microsoft Edge... but who wants to use that?!?

I'm using win10 Help!

So still no solution to this? Very frustrating. Firefox continues to work itself out of the mainstream

Facebook live video is the hottest thing going right now, but can't watch it on Firefox.

How can my favorite browser go to being my most frustrating browser in such a short period of time?

I looked at this once, and the video wouldn't play in the large theater display, on the first try or second try. After poking around a bit, I closed it again and discovered the video was streaming in the original post. Does that work for anyone else?

By the way, if someone knows about a live stream playing that has this problem, could you return to this thread and post a link to it? Otherwise, they're hard to find...

Still nothing, huh?  :-(

When I look at examples through the following page, they play (using Flash, on Windows 7), with varying levels of quality:

https://www.facebook.com/livemap/

I haven't looked at live videos from other parts of FB since a long time ago.

None of those work on my machine.

I updated to the latest verson a few days ago and it resolved the problem. I never did figure out why it wouldn't play in the previous version. As far as I know there was nothing in the update that would have affected it.

Ok, I got a new machine and of course the first thing I did was install Firefox.

Back to the same problem. Will not play Facebook live videos.

Why does no one from Mozilla address this? There is literally crickets chirping on this issue. Meanwhile its just frustrated users in a circle jerk and none of us know what to do.

Enjoy your descent into oblivion Firefox. I just installed Chrome and I guess I'll go back to that. A browser than doesn't work is completely useless to me.

This page works for me:

https://www.facebook.com/livemap/

Do you have Flash installed/enabled in Firefox on your new computer? You can test on this page:

Dude, I have done so many things to rectify this situation, and NOTHING WORKS. I've been in the forums with Adobe, tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing the cache, basically deleting every single Adobe file and starting from scratch... I'm at a complete loss.

Hi holz75, when you open the Live Map page, is the video at the left playing?

I assume when you hover a blue dot, there isn't a preview video. If you click the blue dot to launch the theater display, do you get a video player?

Does the Flash plugin notification icon show up in the address bar on either of those? I'm attaching screenshots for reference.

Nothing on that page works. I can't watch any Facebook live videos. I can watch normal facebook videos just fine.

A play arrow shows up in the video. But if you click it, nothing happens.

And yes, I have flash and it is working properly

Yes, it is the most frustrating thing I've ever encountered. Not only is it a problem, there is literally NOTHING on the forums about it except this thread and one other on in portugese.

No solutions and no help.

I have been battling this issue ever since Facebook live streaming came out. I am forced to use Chrome or IE, just for any live streaming from Facebook. I too have tried everything and it isn't the computer, it is something with Firefox itself, that much I know for certain.

Screencast of the problem

There is a screencast. Forgive the language at the very beginning. I didn't think it was recording yet. And I am very frustrated.

Mine does the EXACT same thing. It's funny though... I used to get a black screen after hitting the play button, and the flash settings would come up when I would right-click it. Now, it's just an image like you posted!
