Firefox automatically upgraded to 45 & now Netflix will not play. Spent hours with Netflix on phone, it seems that new Firefox is not compatible.

Im using Mac OS X (MacBook Pro) and Firefox as my browser. Yesterday I went into the Firefox menu to look at "About Firefox" (to see what version was running) and Firefox started running an automatic upgrade to version 45 (without asking me if I choose to upgrade!) I went to open my Netflix as usual which had been working fine, for all the years I watched it on Firefox, but it wouldn't play any movies and continually brought up the error "sign in problem." Spent a couple hours on the phone with Netflix....to no avail. Nothing on my system changed except Mozilla's upgrade. Netflix works fine on Safari, so it is a problem with the newest Firefox.

I want to go back to Firefox 43, but can't figure out how to do that. Could I get some simple step-by-step instructions, please.

We're still trying to nail down this issue but I'm pretty sure if you run Firefox in 32-bit mode, Netflix will work. To do that:

   1) Quit Firefox. Go to the Firefox menu and select Quit.
   2) Open your Applications folder
   3) Find Firefox in the Applications folder and click it once to select it. Then press command + i on your keyboard. An information window will open up.
In the Firefox information window, check the box next to Open in 32-bit mode
Close the info window and restart Firefox

The info page (brought up by following those directions and using command i) contains no box to check Open in 32-bit (see attached screen capture of it.) I had tried that last night when this incident first occurred.

To temporarily solve issue I was able to open and install a lower version of Firefox (43 I think) which works to watch Netflix as I have been doing for past few years. But that doesn't solve the issue that more folks may be having with FF 45.
