GMail drag and drop selects text

When I try to "move a conversation" in GMail to a label, Firefox selects all the text in the inbox. This does not happen when you grab the email from left "rugged" edge (this makes the conversations yellow and lets you drag and drop to any label with no issues). This started happening recently. I remember I could select the message from anywhere and drag and drop with no issues. I tested this on two different computers and the problem exists in both. Other browsers (IE, Chrome) work fine.

Is this a bug? Any suggestions?
