Issue with writing messages on forums

Whenever I make a post on a forum, my message also contains some random number. I do no write these numbers, nor do I see them while writing the message.

I have tried clearing the cache, reinstalling firefox, deactivating my plugins and reactivating them one at a time. Nothing helps. The problem is not on the forums' side as I tried with another browser and no numbers appear.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Hey, thanks for your reply. I tried safe mode and made a post, same result. I also use the default theme.

As far as I can tell, the problem appears on warframe.com forums and on the private message section of AliExpress.com. It obviously didn't appear here, but who knows on how many other forums it'll happen.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache and
  • Remove Cookies
    Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.

  • Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
  • Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.
