No version of Firefox is working in Windows 10 on my system
I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro yesterday, and am having no success using any version of Firefox. So far I have tried: Firefox 39 Firefox Beta 40 Firefox Nightly Firefox Developer Edition Waterfox
Every single one starts fine, but is not able to open any web pages.
At the top of the page, it is just running in an endless loop with "connecting".
Edge and I.E. are working with no issues, but I would really not like to use either of those.

Hello Darkblade, please try the next portable version (JUST FOR A TEST) and tell us if that works (because, as the-edmeister said and knows better, "Portable Edition creates its' own Profile in its' own Program Files folderset" ) try the beta 3, 40 version.

thank you
Beta 3, 40 is experiencing the same issue as with the
- Firefox 39
- Firefox Beta 40
- Firefox Nightly
- Firefox Developer Edition
- Waterfox
It just chases it's tail at "Connecting" Same thing if I select Help -> About: the circle just keeps turning at "Checking for Updates" (was happening in all versions tested)
Here is the screenshot from B3 40
You are talking for the official channels or the portable firefox i mention above ?
both. The screenshot is from the one installed over the link you posted above.
For now, concentrate on the Firefox 40 Beta version with this latest Windows 10 update. Firefox 39 was released weeks ago and may not support Windows 10 after that update.
Make sure your Firewall isn't blocking Firefox 40 Beta. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/configure-firewalls-so-firefox-can-access-internet Related support articles: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-and-other-browsers-cant-load-websites or https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can
unfortunately, still no success after checking all links. the firewall is not blocking the apps, I added manual exceptions for them as well. Also shutting them off did not change the issue.
please see if this can help (especially the parts about resetting the configuration with the ipconfig commands): http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_web/windows-10-tp-cant-connect-to-internet-through/97e1885e-790b-4d4f-92d4-6b1d97e8c85c?auth=1

I followed those steps and noticed a slight improvement (Change in error). Then I disabled AVG Antivirus and the browsers work again as long as it remains disabled.
Now I just have to get the Homegroup and normal network sharing working between the Windows 8.1 Pro computers and the Windows 10 Pro system.
what error message do you get now? in case it's a sec_error_bad_signature,please disable https scaning within avast:
- Open the Avast dashboard on the affected system.
- Select Settings from the left sidebar menu.
- Switch to Active Protection.
- Click on Customize next to Web Shield.
- Uncheck the "Enable HTTPS Scanning" option and click ok.
