Hi,

for our homepage (based on html/php/css), I would like to know: Is there a way to tell firefox (e.g. in the header) what detail of the starting page should be taken for the tile in the new tab window? The default detail is always a small region in the upper left corner cutting out the main part (see attached image). Alternatively/additionally, is there a possibility to provide a custom picture for the tile? I found a hint in an article saying so, but I couldn't get any detailed information on how to realize this.

Any help on this topic is appreciated!

Kind regards, JamCheck

Since I couldn't manage to upload the image with the question, find here attached the mentioned tile. https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/media/uploads/images/2015-06-25-05-29-34-db0315.png

I filled up my New Tab Page long ago, so I don't tend to notice the thumbnails any more...

Do you have any margin-left rules that could explain what looks like about a 60% left margin?

To address your question about specifying an image file: I haven't seen any documentation on how webmasters can get a special thumbnail (Enhanced Tile) on the new tab page, rather than an auto-generated one. I suggest contacting contentservices@mozilla.com for more information. And if you find out, please update us!

@cor-el: Thank you, however my question was not how to get a changed firefox experience when browsing the web; rather I'm looking for control over the experience others have when browsing the web and especially our homepage with THEIR firefox installation. Possibly, this place is not the right one to ask such a question...

@Jscher2000: Thanks for capturing at least the aiming of my question even if you can't provide a ready-to-use solution! My starting page is a really simple html file, all the contents are in one single div, <div style="width:90%; min-width:400px; max-width:1024px"></div>.

The strange thing is that, as I found out last night, on my second computer, the snapshot represents the whole page. So it seems, the contained details at least not solely depend on properties of the webpage...

I will try to get more information from contentservices@mozilla.com as you suggested and will post the solution here if I can get one.

Cheers, JamCheck
