I've created an account for pocket, tried to save my first video but pocket sends me to a Ted Talk website where a popup keeps sending me to the same Ted Talk website. I can see that I'm logged in but there is no way to get rid of the popup to allow me to log out. Now I'm concerned about staying logged in forever! I don't like this pocket app at all. Can someone please show me how to log out!!! I'm so sorry I even created this account especially when I can just use the bookmarks to save anything I want. Please help! Thank you anyone for any help you can give me!

Sorry, I have no idea how to log out of the Pocket service - I didn't sign-up and have no intention of using it, as I don't like 3rd party services with their own way of doing things and their own TOS. Here's the Pocket support page. http://help.getpocket.com/

But I can tell you how to hide and disable the Pocket feature inside Firefox.

First thing is to hide Pocket in the User Interface. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-pocket-firefox If you don't do that you may find some remnants left laying around if you only turn it off.

Then type about:config in the Location Bar and hit Enter. Accept the warning message. Put this pref in the Search field at the top to filter those advanced preferences

browser.pocket.enabled - the default value is true. To turn this feature off - either right-click that pref and select Toggle or double-click that pref to change the value to False.

Then restart Firefox.

You normally clear the cookies from a website to make the website forget about you if there isn't a log out button. "Remove Cookies" from a website (use the search bar):

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Did you check if there is a log out choice in the drop down that open if you click the Pocket button on the toolbar?
