firefox freezing since a couple of versions
I have other things to do than debuging FF. I need my add-ons and plugins to be productive! Starting in Safe Mode and looking at the Task Manager to see what is happening.. no thank you.
FireFox is mature enough for you to start supplying us tools that would track CPU and RAM use per window/tab as well as tracking the health and resources use by the add-ons, plugins, script, appearance...
when will we have to long overdue tools?
not to mention that when FF38 freeze and that I have to restart it, it does not register on the heath report (last crash shown on may 21). I am getting so piss-off and loosing so much time in my day to day work that I am thinking seriously about moving to IE or Chrome... coming from a Netscape 2 user that NEVER used another browser...
and in top of that I am experiencing problems in Android... problems and compatibility problems that I do not experience when using the default browser and Dauphin...
WHAT IS HAPPENING with Mozilla????????

Hello marcelx, for the FF38 freeze(slowdown), please wait until tomorrow, the new 38.0.5 solve the problem with certain graphics hardware.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Another common cause of freezes due to unresponsive scripts on Windows 7 is the protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have serious compatibility issues on some systems. There is a hidden setting to disable it; I suggest trying this for a day to see whether it helps:
(A) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(B) In the search box above the list, type or paste flash and pause while the list is filtered
(C) Double-click the dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode preference to switch its value from false to true.
This might not take effect until all Flash has been unloaded for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.
