2 months ago I deleted some history from the Firefox Option menu. From then all my important history got deleted. Since I had no backup I couldn't restore them till now. From that day another problem caused. Whatever kink I visit it is not saved in the address bar. For example I've visited google.com for 3K times. But it is not saved in the address bar. For this reason everytime I want to go to a site I need to type that and it's really painful. Is there any solution about this.

Hi Pratyya, Thank you for your question, the autocomplete for sites is pulled from history and bookmarks that are stored in places.sqlite file in the profile. However it is possible to check if the setting has changed: Address bar autocomplete suggestions in Firefox

@cor-el No help from places.sqlite and @guigs2 what's the awesome bar?

more options

Hi, the Awesome bar is another name for the Address bar.

Try this: Open Options (cog wheel) - in the 3-bar menu unless you've moved it, > Search tab, and make sure 'Provide search suggestions' is ticked/checked > OK. Then still in Options but in the Privacy tab > Location bar, make sure your chosen options are ticked/checked > OK.

Hope that helps with your question.

What checks did you do with the places.sqlite file?

Remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database from the most recent JSON backup (bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash value>.json) in the bookmarkbackups folder.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

@cor-el Do u think removing all places.sqlite file(s) will keep my current histories? I mean Won't it delete all my current histories and bookmarks and everything? Is "bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash value>.json"

="bookmarks-2015-04-25_133_9j0gZor-ww4A+-i6-5oCBA==.jsonlz4"

You will lose all current history if you (re)move the places.sqlite file, but bookmarks are usually restored via a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder. You can first rename the places.sqlite file (places.sqlite.sav) to see if that makes the history work. Note that you can use Copy and Paste to copy history items to a bookmarks folder to include them in a bookmarks backup.

That is a compressed .jsonlz4 backup from April 25 with 133 bookmark items.
