I got a new tablet and synced my Fire fox but did it from the new device so it removed all my pinned shortcuts from my other computers. How can I recover my shortcut settings? What is the correct way to sync other devices to the one you have as the main one?

Purchased new laptop. Used export tool in Thunderbird to external HD. Traded in old laptop. Installed Thunderbird & attempted to import my email profile. Import tool requires zip file, but the only file on my external HD is a .default file. I'm getting new email but none of my old emails. Consulted Best Buy Geek & he determined the import tool didn't work properly because the export was missing required files. We further determined the export backup must not have worked properly.

When adding a link in the composer I get a large image.

I have tried to adjust the page code to give me a more suitable size however it seems the TB overrides the size

After the last Firefox update the Home Screen Short Cut List is populated with every link I access on the Web. I don't need a short cut to everything I might view in a days time. That's what my History list is for.

The top two toggles in the "location" area of privacy settings are OFF. Greyed out. The rest are also in the off position and greyed out other than "Notify when apps request location" is toggled on. I accidentally said "yes" when it wanted me to share location. (I just started using Firefox last night). Then it opened my "settings" for my computer on it's own and I closed it out quickly as I was working on something important and I cannot have distractions. I did not mess with any toggles or click anywhere else except the big X in the right upper corner. Since I didn't mean to click yes now it is prompting me quite often, every few minutes, to turn the location service on and automatically opens the settings for my laptop to the page "Privacy & Security > Location. How do I get this Madness to stop?

I love my current Firefox settings, bookmarks, folders and color, background image, dark mode. All I want to do is to create a Firefox browser backup file. I don't want to restore or sync anything. I just want a backup file in case of computer failure to restore to my next computer if ever necessary. I'm using Windows 10. I think they used to be "json" files? The only "Backup" link in the menu only addresses Restoring from a file. I just want to create a backup file for this current browser just the way it is. Is there a simple solution? On the "Your Firefox has updated" page, I recently found out that in addition to Firefox Sync, you can also create a backup in the form of a local file. When I try to follow the instructions on the support page for the function (here I get stuck. For some reason I am only allowed to choose a file to restore my data, but I am not allowed to create a new backup. I have tried refreshing Firefox and even creating a new profile, but both have the same issue. I am not seeing a "manage backup" button either (see screenshot).

It's not the end of the world thanks to Firefox Sync, but I would like to get it working as a nice backup :)

Maybe that's at the root of the problem I'm constantly having with my history & bookmarks being unavailable every time Windows updates? The strange thing is that this page shows that Firefox does know I'm using 11.

I've already posed the question I have about resolving that matter. Hope this helps someone figure out the answer. Thanks to whoever tries!

I get a pop up message from Thunderbird stating the the connection to server pop.earthlink.net was reset. I have to reboot my PC to be able to download emails. Is there a setting I need to change? Thanks.

How do I edit my e-mail address to a new one? I have to change all my accounts due to my current e-mail provider retiring their domain and switching to a new one.

I can receive, but not send, emails using Thunderbird on my PC. I believe this problem began when Thunderbird was updated on 1/13/26. I have no problems sending email on my tablet.

My service provide does not support TLS 1.2, so I tried changing security.tls.version.min to 1. This did not help.

The attached shows the error message and my SMTP settings (1st image) and my service provider's email server settings. I tried changing the SMTP port to 587, but this resulted in a time out error.

My pc calendar display is blank. I can create new event in Thunderbird on my pc and it is immediately appears in my google calendar on my mobile phone, but does not appear on my Windows 11 PC.

Due to a drive failure I had to do a fresh Windows install. Since then my Firefox has not been loading tab favicons for the tabs from my previous session when I launch it. They do not display until I click on each individual tab. I have tried poking around in about:config and turned off several lazy loading functions but nothing has fixed it. browser.sessionstore.restore_tabs_lazily and browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand are both false with no effect on this behavior.

Any ideas for how to fix this?

Firefox is now asking for primary password every time it starts, even before any site that required a sign-in. This just started. How can I stop this annoyance, but still keep the primary password for sign-ins?

I installed Firefox 147.0 using Firefox Setup 147.0.exe to D:\Programs\Mozilla firefox.

After updating Firefox to 147.0.1 via the Help menu, two Firefox entries appeared in the “Settings” app list.

Why did it become multiple?

Will the number of Firefox entries in the app list keep increasing forever with every future update?
