With the new 118 version that introduced fullpage translations, whenever I got to a site that's not in English and that is one of the supported languages, the translation icon doesn't appear at all in the address bar. I can go to the menu and click "Translate Page..." and then the icon will appear but when I click to "Show original" it dissapears.

I am unable to type in numbers in the Vanguard Portfolio Tester boxes. This is a recent issue because previously I had no problem with that function. I can do it using Google Chrome but not using Firefox. Is this a Vanguard issue or Firefox issue?

I am trying to re-establish one of my email accounts in Thunderbird using a new OS (fresh install for both OS and Thunderbird). Auto settings work just fine until it gets to verifying my password where it fails. This is a password that was used for a previous account in Thunderbird on my previous OS where it worked without issue. I can go to my provider and log in using this password without issue. I have not yet tried changing the password as I can't rationalize why that should matter. Actually, I logged onto this site using that password. So, I know it works.

Hi,

I need Proxy settings to use some of the company's applications. Until yesterday, I was able to set them and change them at will. Today, the browser disabled this ability, so I can't use some applications. The fields are grayed out and I can't change them (screen attached). What could be the problem and how to change it as soon as possible? I am not familiar with technical issues, so please give me very simple answers that I will understand and take as little time as possible.

I have Supernova 115.2.3 and am having problems with 1) printing an email- it asks me to save as pdf- and does not show printer in drop down 2) is causing other programs to have problems seeing printer that is installed. Why is this happening? This is recent 2-3 weeks. I have to reboot laptop each time I want to print or scan and cannot have TB open when I do. Have HP all-in-one printer/fax/scan. If TB is open, and I try to scan using software for printer, I get asked if I want to install software- which is already installed. I can't work this way. I am used to having Wordperfect, TB open all day and it used to be fine. I could print screen shots, Wordperfect documents, scan and email. Now I am getting these problems.

Please help!

I've had the same setup of my gmail accounts for years in Thunderbird, but today one of them stopped working.

Whenever I try to get or send mail, I get the pop-up OAuth window for logging into Google. I do so successfully and select "allow" to give access to Thunderbird. But then, back in Thunderbird, I see "Host contacted, sending login information..." and it never finishes. Eventually (many minutes) it times out. I have tried dozens of times with the same result.

I have a second gmail account configured in the same instance of Thunderbird, with exactly the same settings. It continues to work fine, and does not display the OAuth pop-up when I get/send mail. This makes me think that the problem has something to do with my Google account rather than with my Thunderbird settings, but I have not changed anything there either.

Both accounts are configured for pop3 (pop.gmail.com:995), security SSL/TLS, authentication OAuth2. Thunderbird is set to accept all cookies and keep until expired. I deleted all saved passwords for the failing account, but Thunderbird still has the password for the account that is working.

I've already wasted many hours on this. I have read and tried all suggestions that I can find online. Please help!

Starting yesterday, after the most recent update, every time I open/start Thunderbird the Microsoft password request box opens. I have several Hotmail accounts. I enter the correct password for each Hotmail account. If I close Thunderbird and open it, then it asks me again for the password on each account. It isn’t saving my passwords… I know the passwords work. If I go to Hotmail/Outlook.com then I can enter the same password and get to my inbox. I have version 115.2.3 (64-bit). System information: Windows 11 Home Edition, HP Pavilion DeskTop TP01

When I try to sign into any Google product (Drive, Docs, Classroom, etc) in Firefox on my Android phone, it brings me directly to a "sign in with Microsoft" screen. I think this is because my old Microsoft account is the default account for Google products, but it is now deactivated so I can't sign in from there. I can't get out of that page, though, so I can't sign into any of my Google accounts at all through Firefox on my phone.

Most of my work life is in email. Over 25 years (starting with Mulberry) I have built up a custom folder hierarchy that makes work manageable, but Thunderbird 102.15 has broken this, now displaying nested subfolders at the top level sorted alphabetically. See the images for before and after. For example, there are now three "Administrative": I'm not sure where they are from but they appear to be related to my roles as lab leader, graduate program chair, and chair of a second graduate program. Or the list of persons, who are Colleagues or Students, who were formerly in those subfolders. Now I need to scroll through hundreds of folders (have not counted recently but in the late 2000's I had over 500.) Fortunately I have one old laptop that I did not update, which I used for the first image, and am stuck using that for email.

  • Is there a way to configure 102.15 to display IMAP folder hierarchies as in the previous systems?
  • If not, how do I revert to 102.14 (and stay there forever, or until Tbird realizes they need to fix this)?

Thunderbird is so important to me that I make an automated monthly donation to the project, but will have to cancel if this is not fixed.

I am using Thunderbird 115.2.0 (64-bit) on Mac OS Ventura 13.5.1 (22G90).

I am using threaded conversations (View -> Sort by -> Threaded).

The problem I have is that threads with new messages are not highlighted. When I see that I have unread messages, I need to click too many times just to detect the threads with unread messages. Other clients simply highlights threads with unread messages.

Is there any way to have bold (highlighted) threaded messages when they contain unread emails?

Been perfect for years. However, recently (2/3 months) when attempting to make a purchase online using my normal bank debit card, I am sometimes asked for verification. On entering the "Correct" details and the "Correct" PIN sent to me by my bank, the verification will not work. I have had several long conversations with my bank who have established nothing is wrong either with my banking or their system. Their investigation shows the problem lies with my browser ie. "Firefox". This is causing me untold misery and prevents me purchasing online with my bank. I have no idea how to find the issue or certainly how to fix it. Otherwise my pc is working just fine. Windows 10. I really hope you can throw some light on this. I suspect it has occurred since a Firefox update was installed!!!! William Burns

Keep getting this on a number of websites. Most of them I have used for years. Can't give the websites as there are too many but some are pitchsidemanager.com, hattrick.org, skysports.com and sportinglife.com . Just four of at least 14 give the Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site message. I use No Proxy and have my anti-virus turned off when I get the message. I have tried various other proxy settings but the same thing happens. The thing is that I have to keep refreshing the page until it does actually connect and that can take a good few minutes. Sometimes I have to restart the browser. Why is this happening since the last few updates?

For the past few weeks, I've been having a problem with Thunderbird's buttons. When I have an email open, I can usually click the "delete" or "junk" button to send it where it needs to go, and the next email will automatically appear. But recently, those buttons only work once: if I click "delete" or "junk" on the second email that comes up, nothing happens. I have to close that email and delete or junk it from the Inbox. Am I the only person having this problem? I tried deleting the Trash files in the profile, but that didn't help.

I keep on hitting the search limitations. I am an IT pro and I know how it works. But it seems there is no UI to access that level of detail.

I try to use open source as much as I can. So on my private PC I use Thunderbird instead of Outlook which is on my work PC. But my case is very peculiar, I collected 12 email addresses over many years around the globe. And searching in this mess is the challenge!

So not being able to name the fields in the search query severely limits the possibility to find things in the 14 year backlog over 12 email accounts ;)

I am worried that fixing this might go too deep under the hood to be a reasonable feature request for this project.

Any ideas?

Because Outlook is not much fun either :(

I'm using dark mode in TB v118.0 64bit (in Win 11) and I'm seeing a very fat, white, dashed border around some messages - new or replying - which seems to be related to the email account I'm using. Such messages are also reformatted after they are sent. I see the reformatted version if there is a reply quoting my message. It's like they have been made to fit less columns and look amateurish if you get my meaning : (

I hate the dashed border. It's ugly as hell and an unnecessary annoyance. I'd like to get rid of it and also prevent the appearance of messages getting changed please.
