can't verify email

Created an account to ask a question about really, really, really simple things and now can't even verify the account! Get prompted to verify the email acocunt, the Mzilla email is there but the link says: "We could not activate your account. Please make sure that you have clicked the correct link in your email or typed in the correct address." ....umm I GOT THE EMAIL SO HOW CAN THE ADDRESS BE WRONG??


Why can't I download ANYTHING with Firefox 4.0? Choose to save and the dialogue box dispears and I can't choose where to save the file!

Why does 4.0 save jpgs, png, bmp as .htm or "firefox files"?? DUMB. AGAIN, trying to find the defaults are stupidly difficult.

PLEASE KEEP THE SIMPLE THINGS SIMPLE

sorry to hear you have problem with using Firefox

As you have posted, and have a user name I presume the first part of the problem with logging in or signing on at this site is resolved.

Maybe you could give a bit more detail about what happens, you say nothing will download, but then that (image) files are being saved as .htm

  • Are you trying to save images that are sent as email attachments ?
  • What happens if as a test you try to right click your avatar from this site and save it. When I do that it downloads and saves as a .png file

What program is set as the current default in your Vista OS to open your image files ? ( I do not use Vista, but if you have chosen Firefox, possibly the image files will show in Vista as being 'Firefox files' )

Another thought,
IF you have set firefox automatically open image files and try to download such image files with firefox you risk setting up an infinite loop see

  • Unlike in the old sci-fi movies an infinite loop will not cause your computer to self destruct but it may well fail to download, or hang or possibly even crash the OS.
