Profile creation problem.

Have just done a clean install of Windows XP. I am trying to install Firedox 3.6.13 but when I try to create a profile I get the following error message: 

Profile couldn't be created. Probably the chosen folder isn't writable.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but I keep getting the same error message. Have searched Forum and Googled for an answer but have drawn a blank. Help!
