plugin-container.exe corrupts DVD playback in VLC

When Firefox 3.6.12 is open in Windows 7 x64 with a YouTube tab (therefore opening a plugin-container.exe process), playback of certain DVDs in VLC becomes blurry and actually looks like a YouTube converted video instead of a DVD.

It seems that the cause is plugin-container.exe because when you kill its process manually, the playback suddenly becomes fine.

I tried this on both a DVD drive and the same DVD ripped to the hard disk, same results in both case. As far as I can make it, it happens rarely, I only noticed it today on the DVD Clandestinos, but then, I updated to 3.6.12 only a few days ago, so there may be more. I never noticed any plugin-container.exe process before, I don't remember what version I had before updating (any way to see the history of versions installed?)

The DVD playback becomes extremely blurry especially when characters or objects are moving, just like in Flash videos. This is what actually led me to try killing the plugin-container process because it looked like the bad YouTube/Flash compression artifacts, and I knew plugin-container.exe is providing an interface to such plug-ins.

Compare the red shirt in these 2 screenshots :

Clean playback, without plugin-container.exe: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B13FRo3mF8itMzQyZTExZjgtMDFhMy00NjY0LTlkZjItMzUwYzY0M2RiYmFi&hl=en&authkey=CKjp0PcB

Blurry playback, with plugin-container.exe: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B13FRo3mF8itNDM3NTIxODAtNjdhMy00NjA2LThiNmMtNjkzNjU0NWE0Y2Y3&hl=en&authkey=CP-N3oMM

The same DVD or rip played from Windows Media Center plays just fine. The video quality of this Clandestinos DVD is rather low, possibly because it's a PAL-NTSC transfer, if that helps. I have the TLA Releasing version made for the U.S. market. The movie is originally from Spain.
