Hi, that is all Netscape, Phoenix, Firefox, Seamonkey have ever had. It is a security feature . Once a download has completed go to the Download Icon and Click it. You will find the file you Downloaded and you can double click it to run. So there is no issue just a difference. If you do not have a download arrow on the Bar go to Customize and drag the Arrow where you want it.

If any add-ons had that power the no longer do for security.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

So why not have it????

Support Volunteers can't make changes to Firefox. To submit suggestions for new or changed features, may I suggest: Feedback: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/ or https://discourse.mozilla.org/c/add-ons

Mozilla will not add such a feature as it is a huge security concern in running some types of files such as .exe's without scanning first if not a trusted software.

Also whom do you think people will blame if they have Firefox run a iamreallyatrojan.exe from some random site and infect their Windows. People are already so quick to try and blame Mozilla and or the Firefox web browser for a mistake they made themselves.
