newly installed firefox 54.0.1 behaves stange on iMac : when i run ps on terminal i see /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/plugin-container.app/Contents/M

I updated to firefox 54.0.1. It behaves strange on iMac (OSX 10.11.6). When I run ps aux on Terminal i see the firefox process entry as : /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/plugin-container.app/Contents/MacOS/plugin-container -childID 1 -isForBrowser -intPrefs "and then hundreds of strange characters". (see below) This is probably the cause of a recent system crash, (i t hung dthe distnoted proces? and the the imac?). Note if I start firefox withoutb a window open the process enrty look entirly noemal, as soon as I open a window the strange characters appear .

-intPrefs 5:50|6:-1|18:0|28:1000|3 etc (about 100x) -stringPrefs 3:7;release|174:3;1.0|191:332; ?\240¼½¾?M^C?M^P̷̸?M etc. (about 100x)
