Mozilla Firefox 48.0.2 (Windows 10 64Bit) has problems finding my profile only when login into my bank (new instance-chase bank). How to fix it??

When I enter my username and password, I want to open a new protected Firefox instance but it just complains that it can't locate the profile. I am forced to select it to open in the same window. I am on Dell™ XPS™ L502X, Windows 10 64-Bit , and using Mozilla Firefox 48.0.2. In debugging this problem, I tried to verify the profile by using the Profiler and the add-on Open Profile Folder 1.3.3.1. It shows the correct profile folder but Mozilla Firefox 48.0.2 says it can't find the Profile folder, While it is there! The profile.ini is correct. This used to work for me. Thank you, ~sreyes27

We do not live here.

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

What do you mean by; new protected Firefox instance ?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Apparently my subsequent question troubled "FredMcD". I simply hoped to get a reply. Maybe an indication that somebody even looked at my problem would have been ok as opposed to a remark that he didn't live here. But who am I to insinuate anything? -KK I do like though that you directed me to a better place to post my question - which I will do. Thanks again, ~sreyes27

By a new instance I mean just that, a new Firefox web browser application - in this case it's supposed to be a protected one.

The problem is still there. Starting Firefox in Safe Mode didn't affect this problem.

No, I do NOT mean Private Browsing. If the URL is defined in Safe Money to "Run Protected Browser", then when you open that URL, Mozilla complains: "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.".

if this is a functionality provided by kaspersky's browser addon, you'll have to get in contact with their support if it isn't working correctly...

It is a Kaspersky functionality but the error is reported by Firefox. Unless the Kaspersky add-on is corrupting the profile directory or access to it. That is unlikely but it is possible. I can chase that rabbit and get with Kaspersky support. It would be very helpful if you chase the rabbit within Firefox and see if it's possibly a Firefox error.

I have discovered that there is a newer version of the Kaspersky Application for 2017 that I was not using as I was unaware of its existence. I have downloaded and installed the new version and I am still working on issues pertaining to the new Kaspersky Total Security for 2017. I suspect it will resolve my issues. I still need to contact their Support Personnel.

Thank you for your assistance. It is appreciated. ~sreyes27
