Current Version will not allow me to log onto some sites to pay bills (verizon is one)

MacBook Pro, Current patches, Using most current Firefox 47.0.1 a few sites don't see that this is the most current version.. or even that it is Firefox. They state to use Firefox, Safari, Chrome, IE. A couple put me into a Log on Loop.. and you cannot break out. (Verizon.net) is one. I had to use Safari to complete the transaction.. (pay My Bill)
