I am based in Spain. I downloaded Thunderbird OK. After providing my email details no problem but then the final instructions were in Spanish so I could not complete the process. I have now uninstalled Thunderbird. How can I resolve this?

Thanks Roger

Seriously when did the print screen button get pried off modern keyboards. Mine is still there and is captures anything displayed on the screen and I have Zero issues pasting that into paint. How exactly are you trying to do it?

Now at least twice I have seen references to Google deciding to ask you a question and pop up a dialog in Spanish. Your repeatedly say your having trouble with Thunderbird. No you are not. You are having trouble with Googles implementation of Oauth2.0 the authentication protocol they require mail clients to use.

I am guessing that the Spanish dialog looks like this.

Although the application here is the Lightning addon. What the dialog says is largely irrelevant. You have to click the accept option anyway. Or you don't get to use gmail in Thunderbird.

Now a lesson. That dialog is actually a pop up browser window. It is not Thunderbird.. It is a browser window initiated by Google. If the language is not correct there is nothing we can do about it. Google however might be persuaded if you approached them to fix their browser dialog. For millions of Spaniards it is probably not an issue. Just the expats that do not speak Spanish.

Did you download from the following link and choose the English (British) language option and the appropriate OS download?

Hi Yes I did. After I get the window 'mail account setup' checking password, this never finishes in the meantime another window opens accounts.google.com but the rest of the instructions are in Spanish

Help!

Thanks Roger

And that is probably google being too clever for its own good. It offers another account login window to check you are the rightful owner of the account and it has almost certainly decided that you ought to be speaking in Spanish.

Hi That sounds about it! But what can I do?

If you can log in to your Google mail account on your web browser (I mean log in direct to the Gmail web page, not log in through Thunderbird) you can change the language that Google uses to communicate with you. There's a page here that explains how to do it: http://www.wikihow.com/Change-Your-Default-Language-on-Gmail

Please post an image of the exact window which has the 'spanish' instructions - just so we are clear on understanding exactly what it is you are looking at.

Thanks for trying but I cannot even get a screen shot of it! I think I'll stick to outlook. Shame as I was highly recommended to change to Thunderbird for my internet business. Its obviously too complicated for me

Thanks so much

You are completely right I gave in & accepted it & all was fine. It just needs a little calm to translate the Spanish & realise its a simple step

Best wishes Roger
