Can't dismiss or delete an event

A reminder pops up and I can't dismiss the event. I also can't delete the event. This is happening on multiple events. It just started happening a few days ago. Dismiss all doesn't work either. I can close the popup by clicking the small red "x" in the upper right hand corner. That just delays the popup for awhile, then it returns.

Chosen Solution

I had this problem too. With Thunderbird calendar open, select {Edit} {Calendar Properties} from the drop down menu and uncheck the {Read Only} box. This should fix the problem.

Don't ask me how the 'Read Only' box became unexplainedly checked, that is above my pay grade.
