I am on a MacBook circa 2010, just upgraed to Yosemite OSX 10.10, then upgraded Java from Oracle to run JavaScript 8. Ran applet using Safari and all was successful but get errors on Firefox that JavaScript needs to be updated? Do I need to re-install Firefox?

Sorry for the inconvenience. Mozilla hasn't released an update for Firefox to support yosermite yet. It will be out soon. Many users are reporting the incompatibility and bugs.

FYI - I have gone back to Java 6 - Java for OS X 2014-001/005 since Java 8 also did not allow me to open any of the Adobe CS5 applications.
