I usually uses mozzila as my default browser before. Last time i use the previous version of mozzila it's very comfortable and fast respond to each action i took. But lately, i upgrade my mozilla into the latest version and i can say its totaly awful. It keeps freeze a lot and took a quiet long time to respond. It's very annoying and i decide to change my browser. I give this review because i hope mozilla could fix this problem. And For you Information i currently using Windows 8. Thank you.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

See:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
