I have recently closed my yahoo mail account, removed all traces from Thunderbird, but when I start Thunderbird, after a few seconds, I get a Yahoo sign in screen over the top of Thunderbird

I'm a newbie. I am financially obligated to have an ATT/Yahoo email acct. It is 2-factor ID. Can't properly save and utilize the email there, but must keep acct. Need to set up Thunderbird so that I can transfer/save those emails to Thunderbird. ZERO help from Yahoo... If it is possible to do, hoping someone can give easy steps to accomplish. I can try to explain further... If so, very many THANKS beforehand. scooter

all emails that I send have no text appears, but 1 attachment shows. Click on the attachment and the text appears. I wanted the text showed in the email not attachment.

I have been unable to add Yahoo as the default search engine. No matter what address I type in, it consistently comes up with "Could not add OpenSearch Provider for".

It's very odd. Normally moving an email, say from the Inbox to the relevant year's archive, takes "no time at all".

Which is true for all the mailboxes shown on the attached screenshot, EXCEPT for the four at the bottom. Moving even one message from Inbox to Yiddish can take ten seconds or longer (with the dreaded "Not Responding" occasionally). Moving something in the opposite direction is also screwy, only from those four.

I had thought that it was because they're rather large. This first started when there were just Yiddish and MSW, and I split off most of the earlier years into the archives shown. To no avail.

It's only an annoyance, but I'm puzzled about how such a thing could happen.

Also very slow tagging or untagging a message just in those mailboxes.

How can I change an IMAP server on an existing T-bird account after T-bird deleted the saved password and IMAP server for that account? I tried to change the IMAP server address for an existing T-bird account, but T-bird and/or my ISP deleted the saved password and IMAP server entry for that account, so T-bird cannot get incoming E-mails. I would like to add an/the IMAP server back to the account without deleting the account, adding all of its settings again, and waiting 6 hours for T-bird to re-download all of the most recent 10,000 messages in the Inbox and all of the 15,000 messages in other folders again. The SMTP server and its saved password are still in the Saved Passwords table.

Hi I am having problems signing into or adding my tpg account email address through both outlook and thunderbird. My address and passwords are correct and I have used the settings in both email programs as listed by the messaging company. The error message I am getting is that on thunder bird it cannot find the settings for my emaill account and on outlook it cant find the settings. I have had ongoing issues with my tpg account, this one is a pop3, since the messaging co took over the emails when tpg moved them to there. Issues are that i get very sporadic emails ie one week working the next nothing for long periods of time. I can successfully add gmail accounts to thunderbird and outlook without problems but the tpg one is my issue. I can get tpg emails through the gmail app on my phone with pop 3 settings but nothing on thunderbird. I have contacted the messaging co for help but other than settings they cannot help and suggested coming to thunderbird for help. I prefer to use thunderbird as my email program to have everything on one would be great again. Can anyone offer advice or assistance I would greatfully appreciate it

Aloha. I'm helping a friend with setting up a new Windows 11 PC, and cannot get Thunderbird to connect to Spectrum's servers. I spent an hour on the phone with Spectrum support and they just gave up and said it must be an issue with Thunderbird. Here are the details:

- Brand new Dell 24 All-in-One EC24250 - Windows 11 25H2 plus all additional fixes. - All Dell drivers updated. - Thunderbird V155.0 64-bit

If I click on 'Get Messages' after a while I get: "Connection to server mail.twc.com timed out". I've gone into the config editor and changed mailnews.tcptimeout from 100 to 500 and still get the error.

In the Account Settings | Server Settings | Test server connection I get: An error occurred connecting to mail.twc.com:993.

I've tried this with both setting up a brand new account in Thunderbird, and also via copying the 'Thunderbird' folder from %appdata%\roaming from her old machine.

Email configuration (from Spectrum).

IMAP Settings Server name: mail.twc.com Port: 993 user name: abcd@hawaii.rr.com Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: Normal password

SMTP settings Server Name: mail.twc.com Port 587 Connection Security: STARTTLS Authentication method: Normal password

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this scenario?

In Thunderbird why do I (still) get repeated tabs for the same (INBOX) folder?

Many previous answers go back to 2022 with answers that do not work now (like find an add-on in Tools for deleting duplicates).

Hello. i have latest beta 156.b3 64bit, after updating to beta 3 my tb offer retry passwords to many google acccounts and opening FireFox for again login in to each account. I have turned off checking mails on the start up for them and turn off checking mails, but again and again opening firefox for signing in. i closing firefox but TB not continue checking mail from another mailboxes, they stopped and seems like waiting for signing. i try to manually click for each mailbox "get message", but this no work, could you help me turn off login through firefox?

I'm witnessing Memory leak > Thunderbird who usually use 800MB jumps to Gb up to 60Gb

It makes this version unusable.

A few times I have missed messages that have have been inadvertently placed in the Accounts Spam Folder. Is it possible to to indicate that the Spam Folder has contents in the same way contents are indicated in other Account Folders?

If Thunderbird startup is stopped before tabs are loaded, they are lost. The tab fields at the top of the screen remain but they are empty. Evidently, tabs are stored only in a temporary location. This is a very annoying bug. Is there a way to recover them?

PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH ME. I am elderly, and am struggling greatly. Within the last week, I can’t send emails from my Mozilla account. I have a BT email address ie btinternet.com. When sending, it comes up with Login to server mail.btinternet.com wth username (my email address) failed. This is followed by Unable to authenticate to outgoing server (SMTP) Please check the password and verify the authentication method in account settings / outgoing server SMTP.

I was on the phone to BT for three hours yesterday and they were so lovely and patient, they set me up wth a BT email app, however all of my folders with my vital bits and bobs are on Mozilla. Please could someone help me

I updated to 155.0.1 via the update modal yesterday, on MacOS Tahoe, and it didn't restart as normal. The main message pane was blank with "No Message Found" (screenshot attached).

I tried installing a fresh 155.0 over, that did not work; but, a restore of the prior app from my Time Machine did work -- that is, the application not the user profile data.

I just thought this was strange; never ran into it.

If there is an issue and I can help test it usefully, I happy to do so (I have backups! LOL).

Thunderbird has been working well, but all of a sudden it stopped sending my emails from aol accounts. I have tried many internet solutions and nothing is working.

This afternoon, without any warning, all my mail in every folder could not be displayed. This is the second time this has happened in the last month and a half. I have two mail accounts - one that goes through Yahoo and the other Gmail. No mail is displayed in either account.

When I run Thunderbird in troubleshooting mode, the mail does display. I then disabled the few addons that I use but that didn't make any difference. When not in troubleshooting mode, no mail is displayed.

Of course, there's "troubleshooting information" but that's way too technical for me to get anything out of it.

I've been a Thunderbird user for over 20 years and I would like to keep using it but this performance is discouraging.

What do I need to do to get past this issue? I'm assuming I'll be able to read an email response by using troubleshooting mode.

My Thunderbird Account was updated by TB on 2 September. Since then all of my new emails go to Trash. Although I've tried the various responses to such questions, I've been unable to change the problem and get my new emails to come into my Inbox. I'd very much like your assistance please. Thank you.
