I have suffered a total hard drive crash. Fortunately, I had a complete disk image saved to iDrive. After many hours, I was able to find my profile in the appdata and watch yesterday as my 10000+emails (approximately 10 years of emails!) streamed into my new PC from my Comcast/Xfinity account. However, when I went to access my TB account this morning only a small percentage of the emails that downloaded yesterday were accessible. My TB email account is essentially the file drawer of my life. I want and need to be able to access all 10000+ on a daily basis. What did I do wrong? How can I fix this. Thank you so much!

4 of my many T.Bird email folders somehow lost their email contents (about 50 emails). I have an older T.Bird email backup and want to only reload the 4 empty folders using the backup. I want to keep any emails that may be in my other current folders but not in the backups. I am not sure how to do this.

If I copy the same named T. Bird email root directory [b0mdofvn.default] back up folders into the current email root directory, I see the replaced emails very briefly and then they self delete, leaving the folders empty.

How do I fix this?

I've got just one address book with several groups. I can see how many contacts are in each. But how can I locate which contacts have not been assigned to a group? No export of contacts or groups helps. Is there a config. file or something that maps the contacts to the groups? The intelligence must be hiding somewhere here.

It would be great if one could display the groups as one can display the address book name in the Address Book tab. Maybe I need to convert groups to address books? Will I be sorry if I try that? With a little testing, functionality seems very much the same.

I believe that Thunderbird is one of the best email client programs available. This believe is the reason that i am trying to migrate to your email software. Sadly i have been experiencing a some dificulties on my main machine. I’ve tried for several times configurating the email on thunderbird, with sucess. The problem resides on every time that i close the program or restart my computer my email account vanishes from thunderbird. I am using an exchange2019 mail box. Could you please help me out with this situation.

Have used a Onetel e-mail account for a number of years.

Occasionally, the outgoing server drops out so messages can't be sent only received.

When trying to reconfigure with correct port numbers etc it will never reconnect straight away and there is always a long process to get it up and running again which always seems different every time.

I can never manage this by myself and always have to get help in. This has baffled the best brains in the business so any help or advice gratefully received.

I have a folder set aside for a non-profit I volunteer for. I want to backup all those emails separately so that they are 'easy to access' - it's a regulation. How??

Hello, I have two email addresses, one personnel, one business. The other night, Thunderbird asked me to download an update. Since downloading the update, all my business emails and subfolders are gone and have been replaced by my personnel email address and subfolders. (in the left hand pane - pic attached) The business emails and subfolders are on my main server yahoo, but are not on my Thunderbird program. Can someone help me to recover the business email address emails and subfolders? Thank you.

Last week, sometime, I received ALL the emails, that have come into my "mailbox", from about the time I purchased my latest computer, several years ago. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of the little critters. All arranged alphabetically, starting with the letter "a". So far, the ONLY solution I've found from "Thunderbird Help", is to 1. Open inbox 2. Select [left click] one of the repeated emails. 3. This high lights the email in BLUE. 4. Select BOTH "CONTROL & A" KEYS at the same time. 5. This highlights the WHOLE PRESENT page of emails in BLUE. 6. The instructions then say to press the "DELETE" key. 7. Question is- IF I PRESS THE "DELETE" key, will that just delete the emails on this page, OR delete EVERY email in my entire "inbox"? The only OTHER remedy I've tried, is to send the unwanted emails, ONE at a time, to the "TRASH" folder, then empty the "TRASH" folder, when I get 10-15 emails in it. That could take a VERY long time. Find our why Google chrome and thunderbird will not respond. This had never happened before. Don't bother emailing me, EMAIL DOES NOT WORK. (Thunderbird and Chrome will not respond. All I get is error message when I enter my password for Chrome.)

Suddenly unable to send any emails. Able to receive / read. In Charter / Spectrum able to send. Port numbers are correct (143) for Incoming & (25) for Outgoing SMTP. Did try to change Outgoing Port to 587 per one of your posts. Didn't work. This is error message I get.

Thunderbird continues to lose my password for incoming and outgoing mail. Occasionally it works, but I keep getting messages that my password doesn't work / enter new password. When I go to passwords, it does not show the incoming or outgoing servers so I can make sure my password is there. I use Xfinity for my email. It was suggested earlier that it is an Xfinity problem. My Thunderbird email is essentially unuseable. I need it to work!

Hi, I am not sure how it happened, I am now in a position where I can't use my Thunderbird properly. Every time I open TB, it asks for "please enter your Primary Password" which I don't have/deleted? If a try to remove the tick from "Use a Primary Password" it opens a box requesting my Current Password, I have tried the last one and the one before, none are accepted. When I search in Saved logins, it seems to me to be empty. in short I seem to need a current password to change my password. It is a vicious loop. why do you change my message selection when I delete an unrelated message??? Sometimes you delete a message that I haven't opened yet (and don't necessarily wish to open at this time)!!!
