A new version of thunderbird installed on my pc today. Why do some incoming emails not show in INBOX? They show up under ALL MAIL, but only some show under INBOX.

Date Column Sizing

Using 115.3.3, I am able to adjust the width of other columns with the cursor, but it will not change to the "double bar" in the date column. The only way that I can adjust is by dragging other columns and thus affecting others. Am I missing something, or is this a possible bug that needs to be addressed in a future version? I am pretty sure that I've experienced this problem in earlier versions as well, because I've always struggled with getting the columns to my liking.

In the previous version, it was easy to mark more folders and check them as read. Now, with the new version, I can't find the way, how to do it. For me, it is very useful function, because I have a lot of folders (according to the customers) and I watch if they got the notification. I don't need to read them one by one, important is, that it comes. But it really irritates me to check about 50 folders one by one.

So, I belong to a website where one can post stories, and since late last month, I've been unable to get alerts from that website since Thunderbird keeps rejecting E-mails from the bot that sends out the alerts. I tried whitelisting the bot by putting the E-mail address into my personal address book for both my IMAP and POP accounts and making sure the "Do not automatically mark mail as junk if the sender is in Personal Address Book" option is checked, but the E-mails keep getting rejected. Is there any way to fix this?

No matter what I do, mark Not Junk or move to inbox, some of my mail is going to Junk and these are from people in my contacts and I have been corresponding with them for years. Meanwhile I still get some scam mail (Bigpond scams in particular) that I move to junk or try to block and they still come to my inbox. I have changed settings to a learning mode but so far no learning. Anyone else having this problem???

10/17/2023 I just upgraded my Thunderbird to the new version 115.3.1 and it will no longer allow me to send emails. I have verified through my provider that my settings were correct and my passwords are correct. This is one of the messages I get when trying to send email.

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) webmail.spectrum.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

My settings are correct and verified.

The other error message I get is: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com timed out. Try again.

Anyone know what is going on?

We appreciate and enjoy the settings continuity within Mozilla Firefox, allowing us to operate across multiple devices with same passwords etc.

Why can't we get that same functionality with THUNDERBIRD? Traveling away from the office with Thunderbird on my tablet I lose access to emails stored in folders in my main PC. I have tried the migrating process before and after trips abroad but it never collects ALL my emails. Most recently, the migrating method picked up setting, folders and emails up to 2021 - but nothing more recent. Consequently, I had to travel without a proper record.

The 'migration' process is clumsy and unreliable.

Why can't we open a THUNDERBIRD account on any device and find all our work, settings and history as we do with Mozilla Firefox?

I have been getting seemingly random failures to download e-mail from gmail.com I am currently running 115.3.3 64bit, but the problem started with a previous 32 bit version.

Other research suggested that the 32bit versions had a hardcoded limit of 4gigabytes per account, and that the 64bit version had no such limit. The account in question takes up approximately 1.64gbytes, with the two largest folders at 249mbytes and 216mbytes.

It was also suggested that Local Folders was not subject to the 4gbyte limit. I moved a few of the largest folders to Local Folders; that was no help with the cannot write mailbox problem, cannot filter to folder problem and the cannot move messages to folder problem.

I compact folders regularly, the problems return.

NTFS version 3.1 OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045 Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB Total Physical Memory 7.74 GB Available Physical Memory 1.95 GB Total Virtual Memory 10.7 GB Available Virtual Memory 2.83 GB Page File Space 2.98 GB

Incidently, I have a Windows7 system that recently upgraded itself to Thunderbird 115. I have not experienced these sorts of problems there (yet)

I have used Thunderbird for many years. There was a time, in the past, when I used to get Delivery Status Notifications. It gradually got less and less and I assumed it was due to settings of the destination servers. There is the "Options, Delivery notifications" on every email I write but I never get a delivery notification of any kind. So I started looking for a setting to require delivery notifications by default, but, there isn't anything like that in version 115.3.3 that I use on Ubuntu 22.04.3. There was a DSN Settings add-on but that only worked on old versions 3.0 and 3.1 Please help me find out why I cannot get Delivery Status Notifications. How do I set about finding the problem.

Not sure where to begin. Thunderbird has been working for years and now it no longer works. I can still get email if I go to my ISP but TB is so much better. I can do a remote access if needed so you can get your questions answered most easily. I am familiar with TeamViewer. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling. The only message is: "Host contacted, sending login information..." but does not get beyond that. I am so frustrated. I have everything backed up using MozBackup. Any help would be most appreciated. The issue is for Windows 11 on my laptop. The little cloud icon to download the newest emails that is on Thunderbird for Win 10 is missing on the version for Win 11; or, is it somewhere that I cannot find. OR it simply doesn't exist anymore.

“Checking inbox for new messages” appears for several minutes then “No messages to download” appears on my Windows computer with AT&T POP Server. Messages exist, my cell picks them up. Had problem for weeks. Reinstalled Thunderbird. Computer downloads messages periodically. Older error message was "The account xxx email is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages." AT&T says it is not their problem, but Thunderbird. Help. Should I install the Beta Thunderbird or use an IMAP server or what else can I try. I have all my old emails in folders so changing mailers would be problematic. Help Thanks
