Thunderbird for Android Community Forum

My email provider appears to require a unique password for every device (I think is locked to the MAC address).

I have a new version installed from the android play store yesterday.

The QR code method of creating a account from my Ubuntu Thunderbird app does not work. Importing a working account from google does not make any sense on a new device (the MAC address for the original device will be different)

How do I manually edit of enter the configuration so that i can use my android phone as an email client?

On the account selection screen on the Android app, it uses the first two letters of the account name inside the displayed circle so you can quickly select a different account to view. My issue is, two of my accounts start with "sa" and two start with "sj", so I have 2 pairs of duplicate abbreviations. How can I update the abbreviations in this list without renaming the accounts? Hopefully I'm just not finding some easy setting somewhere, but to date I haven't been able to locate it. I'm including a screen shot of the list from my phone, you can see the first 4 entries are 2 pairs of apparently duplicate entries. Please advise!

I host a autodiscover config (config-v1.1.xml) on my local mailserver, when I want to add my local mail account to thunderbird it sees the configuration, but throws an error:

Configuration found This configuration is not trusted.

I host a local CA, and have imported the CA root certificate into the android certificate store. But I don't think this is the problem, because Thunderbird doesn't connect to my imap server prior to throwing the error. (this is working, I can browse the local link without any certificate warning)

This is my config-v1.1.xml:

I've tried changing "authentication" to other methods, but this doesn't seem to matter.

Any Idea?

First off, I love Thunderbird for my PC; however, Thunderbird for Android (on my tablet) not so much. Are there any plans to create a way for Thunderbird for Android to rearrange the order of the mail accounts, like the PC version does?

For some reason, my TB client has a conflict with my ISP provider with TB and my personal Yahoo account. When I try to authenticate my personal Yahoo account, the authentication box pops up in TB, but it points to my ISP Yahoo account with the login instead of my private Yahoo account login. I have deleted my ISP Yahoo account. Everything was fine last year; now, today, I can't authenticate my private Yahoo account in the Authentication box (screenshot below). It's not giving my personal Yahoo account security. It's giving my ISP provider login, it's Rogers.

Any clues as to why?

Can we PLEASE have the ability to use/customize account icon photos on Thunderbird Android, instead of just the letters/text of the account name??? Being able to use/have photos there helps more with which account we're looking at! For example, with me, all my accounts start with "LI" 😅🫠🙃 so having the photo icons IN ADDITION to the color options would be GREAT!!!!! 😁🙏🙏 Attaching photo of what I'm talking about. Ich finde keine Möglichkeit die doppelte Adresse zu löschen. Wie muss ich vorgehen. Entschuldigen Sie das ich in deutsch schreibe, aber mein Englisch ist zu schlecht.

I just upgraded to V14.0.and I hate the new accounts screen. Is there away to either show the account screen with all the accounts visible (like V13.0?) or downgrade? I searched the general settings and couldn't find any way to change this. And yes, I know there's an account drop down. TIA.

I've scanned the QR code like it says to do. Once it's been scanned it will not allow any Google accounts to be added as it says there is missing information for incoming and outgoing servers. Also the passwords are missing and I've also got a fault. OAuth sing in failed.

How do I fix this?

Using Thunderbird-Android 11.1 on Pixel8 Android 14 for first time. Set up POP3 account with no problem except I cannot locate where in account settings I can set "Leave Messages on Server" as I can on the laptop version of Thunderbird on Windows or Linux. I am sure I've must have overlooked something but would appreciate where to set that parameter. Thank you.
