For the past few weeks Firefox has been crashing and freezing often. Crashes are worst when trying to access Protonmail, which almost always crashes the tab instantly. Freezes happen most often when browsing Reddit, and also when watching Youtube, but crashes and freezes can happen on almost any website.

I have tried changing profiles, refreshing and uninstalling/reinstalling, but the problem persists and seems to be getting worse over time.

Here are some recent crash reports:

Dear Support I have opted to use the Firefox browser mainly due to the provision of fixed “Bookmarks” on the left-hand side of the screen, not provided by others. However, I am experiencing lot of problems with Firefox , including: - Freezing pages - Images are not fully displayed - No internet connection at pick times - Hanging on certain pages - Delay opening various web pages - etc The above issues have become more prevalent recently forcing me to use Google Chrome. I have now learnt that when FireFox goes down due to one of the above issues, I have to switch to Google Chrome for access to the relevant pages and generally the WWW. I have no option but to abandon the failing FireFox, if the failures continue. Thanks Harry Elm London

I thought it was an issue with my pc, but chrome does not have this issue and neither do other applications. I have tried clearing my cache and cookies as well as ensuring mozilla was using my computer performance settings as opposed to hardware acceleration. The attached images are a very small example of the issue. Typically, after clicking on the screen or pressing a button the text is corrected but often replaced with new text being "corrupted". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I visited major electronics store yesterday and the tech there, installed Firefox on my 3 month old computer, that I'd purchased there. He did this because I'd simply mentioned to him how I really miss having a simple way to "cut and paste" and edit items like I used to be able to do on my former computer, a Mac Pro. I now have an HP and Microsoft appears to rule almost everything! After I got home I was deeply disappointed to find that my Firefox program had not finished loading and was not completely installed! :( So, following the instructions - which I found somewhat difficult to follow - I'm not sure whether I downloaded or installed the real Firefox program or a 'clone!' I say this because, once I downloaded and signed up for Mozilla's Firefox app. and finished the process, there was a note prominently posted on Mozilla's Support page asking (or telling) me to "Download Firefox! Don't I already have Firefox!?? If so, why doesn't Mozilla or Firefox already know I do? Another thing is, the first problem I encountered after opening my computer, was noticing that Mozilla and Microsoft seemed to be 'fighting' over which one of them I would be signing my Firefox through. (??) That was most confusing to me, because I had been warned to not sign up through Microsoft if I wanted the easy editing options. However, at this point I'm not exactly sure with whom I signed Firefox up through or if it is truly the bonified Firefox or just a 'player.' The invitation in a bright blue box is still on the Firefox Support page saying, "Download Firefox." Perhaps after all that, I did not download it at all. How can I tell? Was it done with Microsoft or Mozilla? It appears to be Mozilla, but I'm not tech savvy enough to really know, and does it really matter, which one? I'm still not used to this computer and still have trouble finding my apps! Can someone help me with this?

I am one of those old-fashioned guys who has a title bar on the main window, and inside this (from top to bottom) a menu bar (File/Edit/View etc), then the current set of tabs, then the address bar.

I can click in the address bar and the caret appears, but the moment I start to type anything to edit the URL the address bar jumps up to to the top of the window, covering up the menus and tabs, with a menu of suggested URLs that at times covers most of the rest of the screen. Some images attached to show what I mean.

This started in a recent-ish release -- it didn't use to do this.

How can I prevent this behaviour, so I can just edit a URL in place the way I used to without the address bar jumping to the top of the window?

Currently using FF 135.0 (64-bit), Windows 11.

When I attempt to use Firefox autofill for address/credit card/etc, Linux will prompt for Root password. After entering root password, everything freezes. I have no access to mouse or keyboard and my entire OS become unresponsive. Besides the hangup, my firefox tabs randomly crash as well with the following bug tag: https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/3020d645-af46-4821-bbfc-e4d680250213. I don't know if the two are related, but both eventually lead my my OS freezing with only hard power down. Every time I try to use autofill, it freezes my OS. I can keep replicating the issue.

Specs:

Linux Mint 21.3 x86_64

Kernal 6.12.13-x64v3-xanmod1

Cinnamon 6.0.4

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X

GPU: AMD ATI Radeon RX 5600

RAM: TridentZ Neo 64GB

We've used Quikbooks for 10 years + on our desktop. After learning the Desktop QB is no longer supported, we attempted to purchase - access, QB online. This required us to return the desktop version, be credited the purchase amount, as we were prohibited use until this Process completed. Now complete! As Techsoup processes have changed, all the back-forth, just not sure. Prior to QB Icloud purchase- need to confirm we didn't already make purchase & guidance re How to access- use online QB version. PLEASE Advise. Thanks

My Firefox is using a lot of data; I don’t know why.

I am not using Firefox, and it is not running in the background, yet it is always using the internet. So what do I need to do in this situation? I tried to stop the internet connection using outbound rules, but it did not work. It is still using the internet. What is the reason my browser has high data usage? I have high data usage; in fact, in the past 12 days, we've used 30+ GB of data.
