when I go to bookmarks and make a back-up it's fine, but there is a very long list of previous back-ups that must be taking up storage. how can I clear, or reduce this list as I can't highlight and delete?

There was a Firefox update. I installed it, but it couldn't boot with the old version running. I closed it, the update finished, and I had a beautiful new UI with all my saved websites (cookies) and passwords. Upon closing and re-opening the program, all the updates were gone, and I was prompted, again, to install the "latest" version of firefox. I jumped through all hoops again, assuming it was a hot-fix, and again the program was perfect until i restarted it. I rebooted my computer to no avail, the pattern maintained. I signed up to sync accounts on one update and proper firefox, and it worked... until i reopened the program. Ive checked permissions, and Firefox is allowed access as per necessidy with windows 10, and tried every permutation of install, reboot, and run that I could fathom, and am presently stumped. help? When I click the star icon, it bounces to the clipboard icon, the dialog box "Page Bookmarked"comes up and I press done. If I input that url again, the star icon is a solid colour and if I click the star icon again, I get the "Edit Bookmark" dialog box. Firefox thus seems to be recording my bookmarks. However, inputting a bookmarked url does not cause autocomplete and requesting a listing of bookmarks shows an empty list, so I don't seem able to call up bookmarks.

ASUS K55A i7 laptop Windows 10.

Ever since the MAFF extension was introduced, I've downloaded literally hundreds of web pages archived in that format (I fell in love with it because the format used up so much less space than the mht format). Only problem is, I cannot open them in Windows 7 because it will not let me add Firefox to the list of available programs even after I browse to the firefox.exe after right-clicking the file and selecting "Open With" in the context menu. Is there a reg fix for this?

P.S.: I'm planning to install the Extended Support Release version of Firefox which should give me another six months of support for this extension while I come up with an alternative for archiving web pages. But for now, I desperately need to open these files because prior to switching to the Windows 7 machine I'd downloaded a boatload of maff archived pages containing instructions and tutorials I needed to ease my transition to Win 7.

I have a lot of bookmark in my bookmarks. Whenever I wan to add a new bookmark into the bookmarks, I open "Edit This Bookmark" Panel, but the Panel is very small (also does not support search). It is very hard to find the target folder which I want to add to.

How to expand the size of "Edit This Bookmark"? Or firefox another convenient way to add new bookmark to bookmarks? Thanks.

i created an account in firefox to sync my bookmarks and add-ons. Things were working fine until i formatted my laptop and reisntalled my os. After signing in to my old firefox account i cannot find my old bookmarks. How to get back my old data which was synced.

We used to be able to toggle the navigation bar on and off with Ctrl-L. New, "improved" versions made it difficult so a plug-in was created to "hide" the navigation bar but it didn't work consistently and newer versions of FF disabled it. I am holding off updating until this problem get fixed

I would like to know how to check my internet speed. I am using Comcast for internet. I have a Mac with OS 10.11 El Capitan. I have heard about internet speed radar, but that might be only for windows systems.

Links and webpages not opening. When I click on link it reverts back to the page I am on or opens a blank page only. Test example try: www.scotsman.com I am on an older version of Firefox, friends are on newest version they tested and got same results. This happens with various websites and various links from Google searches etc.

Yep. So my laptop died and the HDD was unrepairable. On previous occasions when it's crashed, after reinstalling Firefox, all bookmarks and history, passwords etc came back automatically. But not this time. And there are no "restore points" existing in the backup option listed in "Show All Bookmarks". Are they out there somewhere? Cheers, Ian

Hi there, I tried downloading a file today, and it gave me no prompt to save, or any errors. It doesn't show up in the downloads tab no does it even initiate. I've tried downloading several other files, and the same thing. This doesn't usually happen, just the other day it worked fine.

I've tried downloading with both Chrome and iE, and they both work - i prefer using Firefox though.

I've followed all the troubleshooting advie I could find on the support pages, to no avail.

I disabled my anit-virus, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Cleared the cache and cookies. But still no downloads.

This has never happened to me before, is there something I can do to rememdy this issue?

Does Firefox have Flash in it or not? Mozilla's website, on several pages, maybe many pages, seems to say it does, but I'm running FF 56.0 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 2016.04.2 desktop amd64 (on HDD) (not the machine I'm posting this from) and Ubuntu forum people have given me advice on finding Flash in several ways and the overall result seems to be that Flash is nowhere on my hard drive. I'm trying to get rid of it. Is Flash present but under another name?

I need to re-install FF v. 47.0.2 clean. (Last v. not requiring an add-on sig.) I want to protect and re-install "Saved Logins, History and current 'Add-ons', which contains the 'Pike's Create Shortcut' in my current version mentioned." I've already exported the JASON file for bookmarks to import on the clean re-installation. I'm not quite sure how to capture the previously mentioned above add-ons in quotes. I DO NOT wish to loose the add-on in use, "Create Shortcut 0.3.6 by Pike." (It's no longer available and I fear losing it!) There is NOTHING equivalent to that add-on at Mozilla. (Sad too!) I simply can't comprehend why Mozilla will not make an add-on equivalent to "Pikes" shortcut, as a normal part of the FF browser!? The Shortcut is one very use tool for saving time. Again, sad. Any help would be seriously appreciated to get this time-consuming job done. Thanks, Mitchell1568

had my bookmarks on the front page of firefox now i get a message, An error occurred when trying to process your bookmarks. Try again by refreshing your page. been refreshing the page since last night nothing, it has not worked yet help.
