after downloading firefox upgrades i went to HP to upgrade as my laptop had not been online for a few years and the response , after i clicked automatically upgrade hp, was firefox blocked any action. so how do i upgrade hp or do you do that too? I did not see that on HP site. It had been offline as Staples employee deleted things when he was to add my printer driver and i needed to have hp troubleshoot to see if all was now ok? my laptop is on the phone line as my desktop too. does firefox also upgrade what hp would automattically? The situation with the untrusted websites error message is getting ridiculous. I am using a computer in a library today. hundreds of people a day use the computers here. This is not just a problem manifesting on one individual's personal computer at home, but is affecting thousands of public computer users just in the city where I live EVERY DAY and Mozilla is giving advice to check settings, try changing this or that etc. NO, this THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AT THE DEVELOPMENT LEVEL.

The fact that government websites such as www.irs.gov are bringing up this warning in places where computers are made available as a public service is a PROBLEM, and it is one that the individual users can do absolutely nothing about. This isn't just the IRS website, but almost EVERY government website, local or federal, brings up this warning. The time and date on all the computers here at the library appear to be correct. Most public computers operate according to out-of-the-box defaults and don't give users access to change anything.

There is SOMETHING WRONG with the mechanism that causes this error message to be displayed. It is not protecting anyone when they can't get information about laws, ordinances, business development, and government programs. something here needs to be re-thought. Government websites have certificates, just like all websites. It is hard to believe they would all come up as untrusted. I have seen myself many websites come up with this warning and then another message saying that an exception isn't needed because the website HAS A TRUSTED CERTIFICATE... so what gives? Please have the devs take a serious look into the matter.

Troubleshooting information is not available. Users have very limited access to controls.

I'm getting a "cannot find server" popup, in the midst of my browsing. I'll close the window and it almost immediately pops back up. The prompt reads as:

"Firefox can't find the server at www.ƒÚ[-Öjº?½î?îÑ]Žxá+Ï?¬ºgû°õ.com."

1. what is this jibberish-type address called? 2. how can I get rid of it?- i've used spyware programs and it remails

I was searching for a solution all over mozilla support and also forums, but couldn't find any. Not even with Google.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional, with a simple Firefox. /not the recent version because a good part of the addons I use does not exist on the level of the recent editions, however fantastic would it be to have them.../

The problem occurs when I try to add an add-on to My Collections. This operation requires a login, but after using my UN and PW it has always been giving me this error message:

"Oops! We had an error. We'll get to fixing that soon. You can try refreshing the page, or head back to the Add-ons homepage. "

The problem never gets fixed - I have been trying to log in since months, but never successfully. The same Oops happens all the time and reloading the page does not solve the problem.

I have tried to create a new account with my email address, just to see I have an account at all. It says that it is in use = it is confirmed, I have an user account :)

Just recently I had my pw reset too, not helping either, I can't access add ons account, same error I get.

Interestingly I'm able to log-in Personas (same username and pw I have there). I thought I might be logged in the add-ons management gui too, if I'm logged in Personas, but that is not the case, the two seems to be working separately.

If I put a subject in the space for it, nothing happens. This has never happened before. What could possibly have happened to cause this, and how do I restore normal functioning?

Since the update to version 11, I have had a serious problem with Firefox completely locking up and crashing when the following occurs:

I have multiple tabs open. I close them one at a time. When I close the SECOND LAST tab the whole thing locks up.

There is no troubleshooting info because 'task manager' is required shut it down.

When I reopen Firefox, it reopen EVERY SINGLE TAB I had previously closed before the crash.

I have downloaded 9.0.1 3 different times. That is all that happens. There is nothing telling me how to install the new version. I have gone to different community forums 7-8 times. No one has the same problem as I do. I have asked FIREFOX for a chat room or a phone number to speak with a tech support person. My request was ignored. There seems to be a problem with FIREFOX not providing enough information to upgrade and then just allowing the user to flounder around trying to work out how to do it. I have tried several times to install . . . but when there is no information directing how to install it seems that FIREFOX does not care if it is upgraded or not. I have 3.6.1 and i am totally happy with it. It works perfectly 99% of the time. Why fix something that is not broken??!!! From what I have seen there are hundreds of people who have installed 9.0.1 and have nothing but trouble of a variety of different types. Given 3-4 minutes on the phone with tech support this entire problem would be solved. But all you do is ignore my request and try to send me somewhere else. If this situation cannot be solved and 9.0.1 installed and working properly I will have no choice but to leave FIREFOX and use INTERNET EXPLORER. I have been a loyal user of FIREFOX for almost 10 years. You decide what you wish me to do.

Before today, when I clicked the "+" tab a new tab (window) opened. Now it does not. What changed?

 I exit firefox , start button/ all programs/ mozilla firefox/ put the mouse on mozilla firefox   no window to the right will not open to show safe mode option.... So I just click on mozilla firefox and it opens up the browser....

Many websites that I go to have pop ups that tell me I need to up date to a newer version of Firefox because 3.6 is no longer supported and has security problem. I have updated multiple times over the last 3-4 months or more, and I still get this message. In the "about firefox" area it confirms that I have 9.0.1

When I try to download the new version of firefox my computer (MacBook Pro) tells me I don't have enough priveleges to carry this out

My browser will not upgrade. Firefox tells me I am using an older version. I have clicked on the upgrade it downloads but nothing seems to happen after that. I know just enough to make me dangerous as far as the computer goes. So I am stuck with an old version. I have looked in my control panel and Firefox 9.0.1 is listed as of 12/30/11...yet my browser still tells me I am using 3.5 I don't know what to do, Please help me to fix this.

A warning pops up and says that Firefox is no longer protected, and that I need to upgrade. But then, I'm told that the upgrades are not compatible with my computer. What does this mean, and how to I get the updates?

Hi. I keep try to update/upgrade to the new firefox version 8. whatever and in downloads but stops the process there...i am apparently using version 3.5.3....obviously a very ols version. What do I do?

I updated/installed 8.0.1 a month ago, (had 3.5. 0 or 1 can't remember) and under HELP in the top toolbar, About Firefox, said I have 8.0.1. Today, Sunday 12/18/11 tried updating something (forget what) and it said I have old version and need to update…which I did from Mozilla site, and Mozilla still says I have an older version, and that I need to update to 8.0.1 after once again doing so.

  I put "Everytime Firefox is opened" coz it still says I have 8.0.01 

I notice below that the 'Troubleshooting Information' copied below  says   Version    8.0.1 under Application Basics
