As of today, every single time I try to download something, Firefox instantly cancels it and I'm not sure what the issue is. I've disabled adblock and Malwarebytes and refresh Firefox—same issue. Hitting retry from the download panel works but I can't figure out why the first download attempt is always cancelling, even if it's the same file. I'm not even downloading big files.

All of a sudden I can't download files from apps I use all the time... and download files from all the time. I just tried in Edge & I can download just fine. This just happened this morning. I downloaded multiple files yesterday within firefox & the same apps I'm running today.

In the past week or so, I suddenly stopped being able to download/save files or upload files from Firefox. I get a message that says something like "You don't have permission to open this file". This happens regardless of the location of the file (ie locally on the device, a USB drive, a server drive, one drive etc.).

This happens on two different workstations, one is Windows 11 and one is Windows 10 but both use the same Windows login.

If I try a different browser, I am able to save or upload so I don't think it is a network permissions issue.

Yesterday I thought I had downloaded two CDs from Amazon Music. I received the invoices for them but could not find the downloads on my Windows 11 Desktop.

I just spoke with Amazon who said there has recently been an issue with Firefox and that I should use Chrome to receive downloads. I asked for a refund instead as I value the privacy that Firefox gives me.

I am using the latest version of Firefox and am curious to know:

1) What the issue is? 2 Have others experienced this? 3) Is it likely to be resolved? 4) Why Amazon doesn't test its software for Firefox compatibility before making changes?

We run the www.rarlab.com website and several users have complained that the download of the exe file for the English version of WinRAR 7.20 downloads a 0mb file and is also flagged as malicious. The file can be downloaded easily on the Edge browser and it is considered safe by Google too.

i can see the video detected but when i click on the blue download button it says sadly we failed at downloading that specific video. It does this for youtube videos no matter how many times i try it. i never had this problem before and it seemed to have started in may of 2026

Ever since 149.02 update Firefox has been unable to download any images automatically. They are always 'canceled'. I have to manually click RETRY button for it to work.

I have been through a ton of possibilities with Gemini, none of which worked. Apart form totally reset Firefox, which I refuse to do because WTF !

Gemini gave up and suggested I post something on here. I'll just switch to Brave until 149.03 fixes it.

This extension used to work fine for me on youtube but no longer does , it goes through the motions saying its downloading but the resulting file is a 0 bytes , rather than megabytes , ive tried downloading each files size 1080p 720p etc but the result is the same , at first i thought you done this so people would by the pro version but of course thats clearly not the case as no one would buy something is not working , so im not sure what the problem is i may reinstall it just to see if that works , im hoping youtube have caught on and blocking it somehow anyway thanks in advance
