I am not sure what to do first. I already paid for the VPN subscription. I reinstalled Mozzilla VPN but have not yet put the sudo lines in that are listed in the help on Firefox. Can you send me an email with instructions and any special sudo lines I need to intall so I do not get charged a second time. I heve the recovery code. I am new to Mint. Windows 11 started knocking out my hardware with power surges. Had to come from the operating system itself since the machine is hooked to a power backup that smoothes the current out. Firefox auto updated when I opened it today. Then when it opened, all that was on the screen was the menu (file edit view history bookmarks tools help), the "search or enter address" box, and in the upper right hand corner the words "private browsing" with the purple circle and eye eyeglasses icon. That's all. I have tried looking at my profile. It seems to still be there. This seems to be a problem with the Firefox software itself. I have re-downloaded the software three times, the last time I uninstalled Firefox from my laptop and totally reinstalled. Every time I get the same results. This almost blank screen. Let me be clear. There is no purple background, there is no Firefox icon, there are no tabs, there is no customized menu bar, there is no search box in the middle of the screen. I'm working on a Windows 10 laptop 64 bit. Please don't tell me to upgrade the Windows 11, the laptop won't take Windows 11. I get the same window whether I open the regular fire fox or the private browsing Firefox.

Your article about the expiration of Windows 10 says that anyone that has FireFox on the Release Channel doesn't have to worry, that updates will continue to support Windows 10. I don't know what that means (Release Channel). And how can I check if that's what I have?

I'm trying to install Mozilla VPN but it won't install. The error message is as follows: the installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.

Thanks for the information. I can insert a document into a regular email with no problem. I will try to set up a screen shot to send. As I explained before the problem is that when i go out to the web page and try to insert a document i just created for a doctor the file explorer data is incorrect. Then i click on button to get file explorer with current data that would show my new document, it displays "filefox symbol with note 'file upload' " . At the time I'm using doctors web site 'Epic MyChart' and file explorer displays some old data. Is there a way to send you the screen shot without filling this form out each time? Thanks Perry

I don't understand the problem. My accessing Firefox has become limited. I received a note to Upgrad to windows 11... I hae already upgraded. What must I do too have it recognised?

Win 11 stopped working on my Lenoovo Yoga due to bitlocker key requirement that does not exist I'm in the process of installing Ubuntu during the installation something went wrong "system program problem detected" which stopped the installation

Firefox ESR 128.2.0 has been deployed with defaults and these settings have been configured to override previous settings.

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Mozilla > Firefox

- Custom Update URL = Disabled
- Disable Update = Disable
- Application Autoupdate = Enabled
- Background updater = Enabled

We also have a system proxy configured.

Updates do work if someone goes to Help > About Firefox.

Looks like the update interval is once every 7 hours but how is this triggered?

Having just used Windows Update (on Windows 10), the screensaver lock screen comes on with my chosen picture AND four large buttons for weather etc. I didn't ask for the buttons, and don't want them. Is this a Firefox issue, or maybe a Windows issue? Do you know how I can stop them coming on please? (Firefox v. 132.0.2 current)

Latest update, 4. oct. Using Firefox Developer Edition. Closed the browser window for the day, and then on opening again it had updated, my entire toolbar, and also icons where the tabs are, are just gone - including the "+" icon for creating a new tab, along with the bookmarks bar having vanished. Picture added below.

It seems like the bookmarks bar is still there, you just can visibly see any bookmarks. Tried adding a new bookmark, but nothing appeared.

How can I fix this?

In the last update of Firefox, today, the updated firefox opened without some bookmarks that I had open in the last session and that I don't want to lose. I tried the recovery following your help (Recover user data missing after Firefox update) but without success. How can I recover lost bokmars? Note: This situation has happened more times and if I can't recover the bookmarks, I will have to give up Firefox, which I have been using for many years and stop recommending it.
