Good day, A month ago my system froze. Firefox re-loaded and went back to a clean install with none of my settings saved. Managed to get it back to where I had it before with one exception: All of a sudden, when I try to log into certain web pages, even Amazon, I get this message:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.amazon.com. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

However, if I log into the website using a VPN, I have no problem! Help! Thank you VERY MUCH! Pietro

Why do I keep getting this message from my A/V software (Bitdefender): firefox.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to si1.lunrac.com?

The new-ish print dialog every so often infuriates me. Today I needed to print a web page in landscape mode. But there was no landcape mode on offer. My printer definitely capable of printing in landscape

I would like to stop the default behavior of firefox displaying in the tab that contains my GMail how many unread GMail messages there are -- in other words to delete "(9)" from the attached photo and never have the count displayed -- if it could instead simply say "Inbox - xxx@gmail.com"

May I ask your help if you have the solution for the question "Intermittent Fault - Google sites won't load"? I do force myself to continue to use Firefox; but It started to be painful. Please help me not to shift to Chrome...

I have 2-Step verification on Gmail. When I go to log in I get this: Insert your security Key into the USB. I cancel out of it and get this: Your phone can’t locate your device. Move your phone closer to the device where you’re signing in, and then try again. I "Try another way" and I try to get a "one-time security code" and it forwards me to a website where the cycle begins again. If I try "Auto-recovery" it sends me to google. I can access Gmail on the same machine via Chrome, but would rather not. I can also get it on Firefox on my phone.

I did recently turn on two-step and it asked if I wanted a key, and I thought it might mean Google Authentication, I think it meant a USB key.

Any thoughts? I rather not give up Firefox.

UAC notification pops up every time I try to open Firefox since last update on 5/5/22. I've deselected all options that run the program as an administrator, but it still shows up every time. I've checked that no admin is selected in both the shortcut I use and in the program itself. Any suggestions?

If you visit a website frequently and want to wipe delete a website from your historical record, Firefox blocks on the UI thread to do this.

In my experience, depending on how often the site is visited, the single thread on a processor can be pegged for many minutes, consuming gigabytes of memory.

If this is not a bug, then it is a very poor user experience. I was only able to resume after terminating the application in Task Manager.

The "Latest Tweets" header on twitter has recently started automatically scrolling and blocking whatever is shown on screen.

If I try to tweet, the screen appears to split and it is not possible to see the actual Tweet edit and post screen and the screen locks not able to move up or down.

This has only started in the past few days.

Can you help me to disable to scrolling of the sticky header?

So I wanted to join Rally, but I am concerned about granting access to my passwords and logins to the Rally clients. If I create a new profile and sign in with my only Firefox account will Rally clients have access to my passwords and logins from other profiles?

I asked this question some time back here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1362859 I'm asking again to reframe the question. The problem is - if my experience is a guide to the rest of the world - VTT files (which are used to caption HTML video) are no longer read/loaded by Firefox when it is viewing the HTML file locally (i.e. file://). On the web they are loaded as expected. Presumably there's a security setting somewhere in Firefox that now refuses to load the VTTs locally. Maybe under Help > More troubleshooting information there is a setting to change to fix that?

Hello, I was reinstalling my OS, and I didn't create recovery code for my data to retrieve it after (which I found out after reinstalling my OS) on my Mozilla Firefox account, I had a lot of passwords, bookmarks and data that I need to recover, also for my full time job a lot of valuable data which I have lost now. I couldn't find any email address so I can address my concern directly, It's why I am posting here. Please help, I am so lost now. Using Windows 11 and want to set Gmail as my mailto option when clicking on email links on websites. Under Firefox/Settings/Mailto I no longer see the option for Gmail, not an expert on technical matters so I have googled the problem but still can't find a solution. Do I need to find an App on Windows or perhaps an Extension within Firefox, feeling completely lost at the moment.

I haven't had to sign in for a while, so tonight when I tried and I typed the password in correctly the box just immediately closes and reopens like its incorrect. I have tried locating the key3.db and key4.db which I can't find on my system, nor can I find the login.json that is supposed to have the log of passwords to back them up. I don't have any 3rd party password managers and I've tried with my VPN disconnected. I've used the password generator to secure some of my websites so I don't even know was some of my passwords are, so resetting the primary password would be a huge hassle. If someone could please help me out I would be very appreciative. Thanks!

is there a config option to prevent the showing of user/pw proposals when opening a website for which user account data is saved? When i'm logging into a website with already saved user data, i get account proposals (as ff saves the data "per domain", say if you have 3 accounts to one website, e.g. a test user, an administrator and a cms administrator, they are all presented where needed content may be...) see pict. I would like to opt out this behavior, as i have more than one website with 2 or more accounts.

I used to sign in to my credit card through Elan Financial Services and then I would highlight my credit card, tell it the date range I needed to update to Quicken, and hit enter. a popup would give me the option of opening the file or to save the quicken file to my computer. I would select the option to open the file and it would update my register on Quicken. Now, I only get the option to save the file to my computer. On Microsoft Edge, I still get the choice to open or save the file. Why doesn't Firefox support the Open Function anymore. I use Firefox for everything, but now I have to remember to switch to Edge for this one important update. Is this a change in Firefox or something I have to deal with Elan on? There are two suggestions (or questions if I simply cannot find these): - as the default behaviour of the browser, I want to be able to only see websites from Europe. However, when I am trying to use it in firefox as my Start Page, it opens all of these in separate tabs and it does not work. Also as far as I understand using the link is not possible for new tabs.

The reason is simple. For example, when looking for cooking recipes, pages from the USA use strange units that cannot be understood and there is no point in translating each of these manually as all recipes are available in million of versions - it is just a matter of clicks. But I don't want to waste time each time on checking the websites one by one; if the cooking website is from Europe, the units will be of a standard and I don't have to worry. It is the same in relation to many products of any kind. European and American markets are completely different and reading description of something only to find out at the end that it is only available in the USA is waste of time.

- it should be possible in firefox to block some websites or portals by some button. I know that there is an add-on for this but it is only for 10 pages or so, so in reality it is not very useful. It also only works in the way that the page won't open when clicked on. However, it would be much better if unwanted portals or websites were simply removed from search results.

There are too many fake websites nowadays providing incorrect or misleading information. If it happens that I come across one of these, I want to be doing that only once - and block them forever.
