I use -url argument for launching Firefox with two tabs.

How can I specify the container for each tab?

Ex. firefox -url "https://web.whatsapp.com/"-url "https://web.whatsapp.com/" The first tab belongs to 1st Whatsapp account While the 2nd belongs for another one

I just downloaded firefox, I switched from chrome now that the new anti-adblock update is coming out. As such I'm trying to used to the new browser and set it up to my preferences.

So far I've had some problems, and I'd be thankful for any help I could get.

Firstly, when zoomed in using application menu, the scroll does not adjust the amount scrolled. For example, let's say the standard lines scrolled when i scroll with my mouse is 4. It's still 4 when zoomed in, as if I was still at 100%. This makes it scroll further down than needed, and to a person who likes to read, bothering. I presume there is an solution to this, as this doesn't happen on chrome for me. I tried checking out about:config and change mousewheel.default.delta_multiplier_y from 100 to somewhat lower.

This made all scrolling way too slow, even if only slightly lowered. And the amount scrolled normally isn't the problem, the problem is the amount scrolled does not adjust when zoomed in, still scrolling as if I was on 100% zoom instead of 250% zoom.

Second question, is there a way to change the default zoom percentages. Instead of 100-110-120-150 ect... to 100-120-150-175-200-225-250 and so on.

Thirdly does firefox automatically have tabs sleep when not in use to save ram. If not, where would I activate it?

How do I stop the "snap to grid" function when dragging pictures from the window to the desktop on Mac? whenever I drag a Picture to the desktop, it's like the "snap to grid" option on the computer is on. The pictures won't stack if i drag them to the exact same place. Ive checked every preference option on both the Mac computer and the Firefox settings but there is nothing about disabling it. The "snap to grid" function is disabled on the computer itself and images will stack if dragged from another browser like Chrome. It only does it with Firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

I have FIrefox v. 108+ as my default Windows 11 Pro browser. I want it to open in full screen by default.

I know that I can hit F11 to toggle programs to fullscreen but its a pain to have to click Firefox's expand button to use the browser.

Is there a browser config setting that will force it to open full screen by default. There's a Feb. 19, 2022, question in Support that doesn't provide an answer.

Background info on Firefox zooming capabilities:

When I do the pinch-in movement on my laptop's touchpad on Firefox, the window zooms in, as if it had a magnifying glass. I'll call this the "magnifying zoom".

However, Firefox has 2 other types of zooms. It can zoom only the text (I'll call this "text zoom"), where the CSS property `font-size` is changed for all text, and it can zoom all elements (I'll call this "elements zoom"), where images, video tags etc., all HTML elements are increased in size.

The main difference between these 3 types of zoom I found are that:

- the magnifier zoom doesn't change anything about CSS or the page layout, everything stays exactly as it was, the only difference is that the window is magnified, so everything looks bigger.
- the elements zoom does change the page layout. For example, by increasing the size of HTML elements, it can have the same effect of a media query for a smaller screen size and remove or reorganize column of elements. By changing elements sizes, elements can get reordered around the page. This never happens with the magnifier zoom, where the page remains exactly as it was before, but magnified. 
- the text zoom only changes text size, although this can also trigger a change to the page layout if HTML elements get too big.

I'm currently using a bluetooth keyboard with a touchpad, when I pinch-in using this bluetooth touchpad, I get an elements zoom, instead of a magnifier zoom like the one of my laptop's touchpad. I believe the reason is that my bluetooth touchpad is being recognized as a mouse, and using Ctrl+mouse wheel gets an elements zoom.

1. 1. Question:

Is there a way to force all pinch in movements or all zooms to be only magnifier zooms? I don't want to change the page layout, I only want to magnify a certain part I can't see properly. Is there a way to pick and choose which kind of zoom I'd like to have?

I only found [addons][1] that could let me choose between elements zoom and text zoom, but there's no option for the magnifier zoom.

You guys drive me crazy! In the Help selection it states to add more quick links to FireFox to select the "Personalize" button. Where have you hidden the personalize button so I can add more Quick Links? Why make this so difficult. In the Open Application Menu the drop down screen should have the Personalized selection listed. Why hide this application under another application, example "Add-ons" or wherever you have put the Personalize selection. Grrrr..........................

Hello everyone!

My use case is that I have pi-hole at home, so I want DNS requests go through it (DoH disabled, DNS reqs go as assigned by DHCP, actually it goes to DoH then). But when I am away from home (i.e. office) I want to have DoH enabled for privacy reasons.

Is there a way of modifying settings based on location? I guess the simplest way would be to do it with a script that checks my IP - if it's my home IP then disable DoH, otherwise enable. But I don't know how to make it work.

Can you share any experience in such task?

I'm looking for a way, or extension, that allows me to change where Firefox outputs audio. I've managed to boost a low-gain source with various tools, but whenever a system beep happens it blows my ears out.

I recently updated to v109. So far, so good. But...

this is on a laptop (being replaced in the next few days) with a rogue keyboard -- some keys barely work, others occasionally go wild. And after a recent session (several days and two reboots after installing 109) in which the keyboard did the latter in the Address Bar, the Status Bar at the bottom has disappeared. And I can't get it back; there's no apparent menu item or setting.

I'd really rather just port this profile to the new machine, but can't if there's no way to reverse this...

Menu item that's buried? Setting? About:config entry?

Hello! I have been using Bitwarden extension on MAC since I set it up more than a year ago. Bitwarden is installed on Raspberry Pi server and uses self-signed certificate. The other day I logged off and currently I am not able to login with the same username and master password. I tried many ways to get to my vault but get message saying my username or password is not correct. In the same time I can get access to my Bitwarden data over web interface with the same credentials. Regards, Alex

I'm running MacOS Ventura 13.2 on a M2 Macbook and Firefox 109.0

I can not select a Downloads folder and even if "Always Ask" is set, all Downloads of all types fail immediately.

None of them solved the issue.

this is the question dougumbarger asked in 2022. There does not appear to be a solution posted I now have the same problem. Especially noted with ticketing sites like Ticket master, Eventbrite.

Firefox has my credit card information and it shows up in a window when I go to pay for something, but when I click on the credit card I want to pay with, it won't autofill. In Settings, the box to autofill is checked. This has worked a hundred times before, but stopped working a few months ago. How do I get the autofill to start working again

Hi Guys Here is my problem: When I click on this button, the address will not open. This happens also when click on links to activate them to open an internet page. I do not know whether this is configured somewhere in my browser Mozilla or my computer protection McAfee program or eventually somewhere else. Have I blocked something in some program? As someone that uses the command line terminal a lot, I constantly find myself pressing the "tab" button on my keyboard when typing a URL in the address bar to accept the current suggestion and move to the next segment. For example:

1. I want to go to www.example.com/segment1/segment2
2. I'll start typing "exa" and since I visit this site a lot, Firefox helpfully completes example.com
3. I would like to press "tab" on my keyboard to have Firefox complete example.com/ then I can type "seg" and Firefox could complete it to "example.com/segment1

I know I can do this by pressing the right arrow key, but that requires me to lift my right hand off to press it. I would like to be able to easily do this with the "tab" key which my pinky can quickly press. Pressing "tab" currently, has Firefox pick some complete url which I don't want, i.e. www.example.com/segmentA/segmentB

I am using firefox version 64 for bulk print from one of the application. it is the only version which is supporting to take bulk print from the application. i have removed the auto updation . eve though the firefox is getting updated after restarted the system or after shutdown. please help me to fix the issue

Three settings available: Light, Dark, Automatic. Automatic is not following my system display settings for "Night Shift", which is set to "Sunset to Sunrise". All Automatic mode does is lock Google.com into dark mode. I have to set it to "Light" to see google.com normally.
