A bit desperate here. Windows crashed with no chance of repairing the installation. Hard drive And all files on it are accessible. Firefox had thousands of bookmarks for a very important project.
There seems to be no Firefox profile on the drive. Searched in hidden folders as well. Certainly not where it’s supposed to be: …\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Search for all files on the drive, but there seems to be no SQLITE or JSON files related to Firefox.
Not even a folder anywhere in the drive called Mozilla or Firefox or Profiles or Profile (at least not in relation to Firefox).
There’s no file called places.sqlite or bookmarkbackups anywhere on the drive.
The drive itself seems to be in a good condition and all other files are there and accessible. The file system doesn’t seem to be corrupt And man thousands of bookmarks were there before windows crashed.
Also checked places in \Roaming\ Just in case, as sometimes it could be found there for some installations.
Nothing found anywhere so far. Seems like running out of options.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much everybody for your time and attention.
I keep having to login. Mozilla isn't remembering my settings. All help is sincerely appreciated

I'm using Firefox 100 on Win10 and can't save any bookmarks. They do NOT appear under the App Data Profile, which would not be acceptable even if they were. This change has made it impossible for me to continue using Firefox, unless I want to go back to Win7.
I simply need Bookmarks to work the way they did before!
Thank you for your time.
My toolbar is not displaying my bookmarks. Today, the right click menu stopped showing up, so I have no way to make it only show up on a new tab.

I am trying to move my mobile bookmarks from Firefox to Brave. I've synced them with no trouble from Firefox Android to desktop. I can see a folder in the Firefox bookmark manager called "mobile bookmarks", and it contains all my mobile bookmarks. From there, I can open them in Firefox, Brave, Edge, and Chrome. No problem.
When I click "Import and Backup", then "Export Bookmarks to HTML", I'm able to save the HTML file to whatever location I like - desktop, Downloads folder, etc. However, when I go to open the file, it only contains the Mozilla default bookmarks. None of the "Mobile bookmarks" folder is visible. The HTML file is only 11 kb.
Screenshots are attached. Using Firefox version 113.0.1.
FWIW, I've also tried directly importing the bookmarks to Brave using their import feature (not using an HTML file), and Brave does not recognize any bookmark files whatsoever from Firefox. Getting really frustrated.

Hello, I upgraded my windows 8.1 system with firefox on it to windows 10. The windows 10 upgrade saved my windows 8.1 files. I installed firefox on windows 10. I deleted the files created by the install in the folder 'profiles'. When I copy my old firefox profile contents into that firefox profile folder, firefox does not pickup my bookmarks and extensions as I had hoped. Is it possible to get firefox to recognize my old profile contents? Thanks, Doug

Hi @all,
I reinstalled my computer from scratch with Windows 11, before this reinstallation I had Windows 10. Now I noticed that with the newest Firefox version 109 (that I also had before with Windows 10) and Windows 11 my multirow bookmarks toolbar doesn´t work anymore. Before the reinstallation it worked with the following code:
/* Source file https://github.com/MrOtherGuy/firefox-csshacks/tree/master/chrome/multi-row_bookmarks.css made available under Mozilla Public License v. 2.0 See the above repository for updates as well as full license text. */ /* Makes bookmarks toolbar span multiple rows */ #PersonalToolbar{ --multirow-bmb-n-rows: 3; /* Control how many rows are shown before scrolling */ --multirow-bmb-row-margin: 2px; /* Control how much spacing is between rows */ max-height: none !important; } #PlacesToolbar > hbox{ display: block; width: 100vw; } #PlacesToolbarItems{ display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap; /* --uc-bm-padding is defined in autohide_bookmarks_toolbar.css */ max-height: calc(var(--multirow-bmb-n-rows) * (5px + 1em + (2 * (var(--multirow-bmb-row-margin) + var(--uc-bm-padding,2px))))) !important; overflow-y:auto; scrollbar-color: var(--lwt-accent-color) var(--toolbar-bgcolor) ; scrollbar-width: thin; } /* Hide the all-bookmarks button */ #PlacesChevron{ display: none } /* Add some spacing between rows */ #PlacesToolbarItems > .bookmark-item{ margin: var(--multirow-bmb-row-margin) 3px !important; }
I already tried some other codes that I found in the internet but none of them worked.
I have this code in the file userChrome.css, this file is in a chrome folder and this folder is in my profile folder.
Can anybody tell me what I have to do to make the multirow bookmarks toolbar working again?
Best regards heusmich

Having issues with any tab that I open and navigate to a website that the bookmarks bar just disappears and I have to open an new tab that is not used just to get access to the bookmarks bar.
Not for sure why it collapses itself when actually browsing and was not for sure if there was a solution to fix this. I had searched online and could not find any solutions or anyone that has had the same issues.
I have attached screenshots of the difference between a new tab and a tab with a site opened
Help is appreciated, Thanks

I am not too good with the computer and have just starting using Firefox. I will do my best to describe my question so please bar with me. I have 2 rows of websites that I frequent...actually only using the first row and 5 spaces in the second row. When I go to a different website Firefox is automatically adding that website to one of the boxes in the second row which I do not want. How do I stop this? Question 2...using Ebay as an example...if I keep searching on Ebay and have looked at lets say 5 different pages how do I go back to the home screen without having to hit the back button 6 times? Thanks for the help. Chuck

Hello, I recently downloaded Firefox and transferred all my data from Chrome to Firefox. Everything transferred well and for a day all my bookmarks were visible at the top of the page. Then I turned off bookmarks to only show on a new tab, and then later realized that the bookmarks were not being displayed on the new tab. And even when I turned bookmarks to always show on all tabs the bar is there but nothing is displayed. All my bookmarks are still in the Firefox Library and I can save new bookmarks to the library, but the bookmarks bar above still remains empty. Clicking Import and Backup in the Library and clicking Restore hasn't returned the bookmarks to the bookmarks bar. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I did a restore on firefox 112 and now can't get my bookmark sidebar to display.
Bookmarks are not imported and are freezing up the browser. How can this be corrected?
How to delete "frequently visited"? I don't want to delete them temporary, I don't want them to show ever again in the future. Is it possible?

I have noticed 3 new bookmarks I never added for 2 websites I've visited recently show up in my bookmarks bar.
I did a scan with Avast One (free version) and it says no viruses or malware found
Any thoughts on what's adding the 3 bookmarks?
Thanks.

Hi, I disabled several options in about:config, and a feature previously disappeared. When I pressed the scroll button in the diamond, it opened a tag and automatically navigated to it. Also, when there was a previously open page, and I open any bookmark (tags), the selected page opens in a new window, I want it. Please help me.

To resolve an issue that has been plaguing me, I did a clean install of Firefox. I followed some instructions I found on here that ensured that all I had to do was rename the existing Firefox folder to something else, download and run the installer again, and I should have done a clean install without losing my user data.
The issue I had has been fixed, but all of my add-ons and bookmarks are gone. I can get the add-ons back, but where can I find the bookmarks in the old Firefox folder?
