Multiple attempts to post this and get help - my tab groups randomly closed and they are all gone. I spent a lot of time gathering up tabs into the right groups for big projects and trips. Somehow a window closed - accidentally, leaving only my inbox one open. I tried to no avail to find tab groups, restore history (option not given), and other ways to restore this.

I had been excited about the option of tab groups, and in the past they always reopened after a restart. But today they disappeared in the middle of session. It's tons of work and time lost and I don't think I'll use them again. What a disappointment.

Following an update in february, when I close my session, firefox asks if I want to close all my tabs, if I said yes, when I open the following session I have to fish manually all my tabs in the historic or in the group of tabs. I have the same setting for years with reopen the tabs on the next session etc, and now, I have to quit without closing the browser and shut down the computer with firefox running if I want to have my usual tabs on the next day on my profile. If I quit and close the tabs ( 63...) my profile is empty. No more pined tabs or group of tabs. Can someone explain how to fix that? Thank you

It has happened recently that when I clicked on something Firefox takes me to a different window opens in a new tab and I had to go back to the tab that I was on for that click. Is this something new that Firefox does to generate ad revenue?

I cannot add much to the description. I'll make the comment that having to look into the history to find a tab supposedly at hand is inefficient and a waste of time.

I usually have three tabs pinned for easy access. Upon using the new "add tab to taskbar" feature though, there's a problem.

If I use the button to pop out youtube music for example and then close the version of the browser that it came from, and that my pinned tabs are on, any subsequent times I try to open firefox won't keep the tabs pinned. This also happens if I attach youtube music to my taskbar permanently and try to open it from there and then try to open firefox regularly.

Not able to create new tabs on this Firefox browser on Home computer while the same is working fine on my handheld. The tabs are synced between the devices. Moreover, after I switched back from Vertical tabs to horizontal these issues cropped up and they are persisting after multiple browser restarts as well.

I rely heavily on tab groups to organize my browser sessions for different tasks and projects. I’ve experienced an issue where, after saving+closing tab groups, they disappear from the “Recent Tab Groups” section after some time. This means (EVERYTHING IS LOST) I have to recreate my organized tabs from scratch each time, which is a "significant workflow disruption" (to say lightly). I understand tab groups are designed to persist across sessions and the hinting fox menu says they should be available for reopening in “Recent Tab Groups” at anytime, but I’m finding this isn’t consistently working (on several devices I use). I’m hoping to understand if there’s a limitation or known issue with how tab groups are stored, and whether there’s a more reliable way to preserve these groupings long term. It’s possible others are running into this behavior too, and I’d appreciate insight into whether this is a known issue or if I’m missing something in how tab groups are managed. Perhaps a future patch could address this persistence problem for long term reliability?

So, I've just went on a quest to find a solution to my pinned tabs disappearing every few days, and it seems like this can happen if I don't shut down Firefox properly. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

That's my question. The rest of this is curiosity about the issue since it's seemed to have persist for a few years:

Is this intended behavior? No other browser I use does this and judging from the hits I got here, and elsewhere, it seems undesired. Is there some security or privacy reason it's like this?

I know I can repin the tab, or take some session recovery steps, and a few other things... but IMO, those are workarounds, not solutions. Barring some technical or mission limitation, a true solution should prevent this from happening at all.

I have not used tab groups until now. I have some groups in one profile that I want to move to a different profile. If I export the bookmarks from the first profile, will it include the tab groups that I want to move to the second profile?

Two days ago while using Firefox my interface/window changed. Whereas before I could have many, many tabs opened across the top of my window, suddenly they are gone. I now have one place where I can put in my new search and no ability to easily access formerly opened tabs. So if I am in my gmail account I can open different tabs/searches and go back and forth between them and my gmail or between search and search. I like to keep open tabs that I want to return to easily - things I haven't completed reading, things I need to get back to to fill out something, etc. Now I can't get to them easily. I know that there is a history, but I am may be wanting to find a tab that I opened two weeks ago and don't remember the date or the name. If they were still opened in this bar across the top (and I am not referring here to bookmarks), I can find them. When I no longer want them opened I delete them. I don't know if this problem is due to the recent Firefox update or if I did something by mistake that caused this. It is making my use of Firefox as my browser very cumbersome and impractical. I also can't spend hours and hours reading through Firefox materials to see if I can find a way out of this problem. Ideally, if I could speak to an actual help desk person, that would be great. I am an 80 year old woman who would like to be able to keep up with all my interests and activities and not being able to use Firefox in the way that I have will really be an obstacle. FF 150.0.1 - CTRL + 1 - this shortcut fails to work as designed

It not only does not change focus to TAB no. 1, but also does not focus the tab it does select. That the second part above occurs may be, as far as I know, how it always has worked.

So frustrating. Been a Firefox user for nearly two decades and this is first ongoing issue I have not been able to fix . . .

I work with 7-10 open tabs at any given time. Whenever I close a tab, my entire browser shifts and resizes. It's quite disruptive.

I've gone into AI and done some config troubleshooting, but nothing working.

This is since the last 2 updates.

I usually maintain 2-3 active windows with multiple tabs. Everytime I turn off my PC, when I turn it on again, and I open Firefox, all my windows and tabs would be restored as I last left them. And if I accidentally closed the windows, I can select reopen Recently Closed Windows.

But since the last 2 updates, after I close the window, the option to reopen Recently Closed Windows were still grey.

And it's a hassle that every time I restart my computer, I need to go to Restore Previous Session to have my tabs open again.

And if I or another user opens it and started a new tab/session without restoring, I will no longer be able to restore my previous sessions and would lose all my tabs.

Can you please tell me why the feature is changes, and is there a way I can easily restore my previous sessions without the trouble.
