Hi there,

I am on a MacBook Air M3/8GB ram. I was really wanting to use Firefox due to your stance on privacy, etc. but here is my experience:

Yes, I keep a lot of tabs open - I do try to group them and hope that tabs in closed groups are deactivated, but I don't know this at all.

If I use Firefox all will seem well until my machine sleeps. On waking, it is excruciatingly slow - we are talking multiple seconds to even switch tabs or get the cursor to be "hot" when filling a form. Upon trying to quit (restarting being the usual first step), FF will ask confirmation and then close the windows, but will not completely quit, requiring me to force-quit. On restart it seems to behave again, at least for a while.

While I do see some evidence that others have this issue (memory leak?) there are no real methods or answers as to how, if at all, to fix this. It took a lot to get everything on FF working the way I like after leaving Chrome, but I really can't deal with this, and I think I will be looking at switching again - I guess to Safari.

I would love to know how to fix this, but really I don't imagine this is due to my system as much as the FF browser. That said, if you ahve any ideas, I would be open.

Up until maybe mid last year, I had an RX580 8gb. I was able to game on my main screen and watch videos on my second screen with no issues. Then I upgraded to a 2080 and now a 3070. When I switched to the 2080 I ran DDU. But ever since switching to NVIDIA whenever I game and watch videos, mainly twitch, the framerate on my game and twitch tanks. Sometimes it even causes a timeout or causes the video to corrupt, then I have to close and reopen the tab. From what I can see in Task Manager, the video decode just starts dying. Sometimes if I pause my game and then pause the video the frame rates will return to normal. If I'm watching something on YouTube, I'll instead get audio issues where the sound on the video will lower if the sound on the game gets louder. I've tried reinstalling Firefox, but that didn't help. I've tried messing around with my internet settings, resetting my modem, that hasn't helped either. Drivers are all up to date. My specs are:

- Gigabyte 3070 oc 8 GB - 16 gb ram - ryzen 3600 - X570 Steel Legend (non-wifi) - Windows 11 pro

MacOS, M2 2023, fully up to date firefox.

Sometimes I'm using firefox and it just stops loading pages, internet is fine. Other browsers work. I look at my activity monitor and nearly 100% of my 32GB of ram is being consumed by various firefox processes. A lot of those processes seem to be associated with youtube. This problem usually, but not always, is resolved by restarting firefox. But this shouldn't be happening. I have a lot of tabs open sometimes, but it's not that excessive. And most certainly not 32GB worth and preventing my computer from doing a google search.

If there's a debugging thing I can do to post system logs, let me know and I'll post them next time this happens. I'll be away from my computer until early July, so around that time.

I am not sure if you have herd this or not since the newest Firefox update everything is very slow. takes forever to get anything on Firefox especially with extensions enabled. Especially Facebook . Now i am not sure if this is Facebook's fault or if it is Firefox Iam using this version149.0 64 bit. if it is not Firefox have you hear d or seen yourselves about Facebook not loading correctly . Please if anyone knows of either problem feel free to contact me

Firefox has definitely gone downhill imho. Too many very frequent updates after browser slows down to a virtual standstill. I have seriously been looking at other browsers. What's the story?

Places where I've observed this behaviour:

• The 4th video in the description of https://store.steampowered.com/app/1363080/Manor_Lords/ (ignore the media carousel at the top of the page)
• This video https://dolphin-emu.org/m/user/blog/progress-report/2603/rebelstrike-texturestreaming-av1.webm that's loaded in an embed at https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2026/03/12/dolphin-progress-report-release-2603/

When these videos are in view and playing, they're decoded using the CPU and the browsers frame rate tanks (heavy/laggy scrolling when scrolling with mouse scroll wheel), I have a Geforce 3070 which includes support for AV1 decoding so I'm not sure what's happening.

AV1 videos found on Youtube like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foqVJq-XPTg are fully hardware accelerated by the GPU (Stats for nerds confirms it's playing an AV1 copy) and doesn't exhibit any performance issue.

GPU usage is monitored by Task Manager in Windows 10. For the problematic videos the GPU Decoding is at 0% with a workload being spread across many of the CPU cores. For the non-problematic 4K video the GPU Decoding is around 60-70% and no workload is distributed across multiple CPU cores.

I am on arch linux, Wayland KDE Plasma. KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0 Qt Version: 6.10.2 Kernel Version: 6.19.9-arch1-1 (64-bit) I then ran firefox (Both Flatpak and Pacman fail ), and no matter what (MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND on or off) when in pointer lock, the high polling rate mouse was significantly slower than the lower polling rate touchpad. I have tried different mice with high polling rate, the result is the same. https://mdn.github.io/dom-examples/pointer-lock/

After the version 149, a very strange issue happens to me with Firefox. When I try to log in to some services (Google account, WhatsApp, Mozilla account) the browser freezes. That does not happen if I turn the hardware acceleration off so I essentially thought there is some issue with my graphics drivers which I then updated (Nvidia 580.142 drivers for Geforce GTX 960). But what is very strange is that the issue isn't present when I use Firefox in private mode! That means: Normal mode, HW acceleration on -- freezing Normal mode, HW acceleration off -- not freezing Private mode, HW acceleration on -- not freezing I switched to the ESR version now which works fine too. Still, I am curious about what is going on and I would like to find a solution. My system is fully updated Arch Linux. I cannot share my data since I can't log in to my Mozilla account. I've just upgraded to V149 and, when using NordVPN, Firefox is now taking at least 30secs to startup. If NordVPN is off startup is instant. Prior to V149, Firefox startup was instant, both with and without NordVPN.

I use multiple Firefox profiles and create separate desktop shortcuts for each profile using Firefox’s built-in profile shortcut option. I then pin each profile shortcut to the Windows taskbar so I can launch them independently.

The issue is that when I click one of the pinned profile icons, Firefox opens a new separate taskbar group/icon instead of attaching the window to the already pinned taskbar item for that specific profile.

For example:

• I pin Profile A and Profile B separately to the taskbar.
• When Profile A is already open and I click its pinned icon again, Windows creates another Firefox taskbar button/group instead of reusing the existing pinned Profile A button.
• Google Chrome profiles do not behave this way on Windows — each profile stays grouped with its own pinned taskbar icon as expected.

Is this a known limitation/bug with Firefox profiles on Windows taskbar integration, or is there a way to make Firefox profile shortcuts behave like Chrome profile shortcuts?

Escenario de prueba:

Sitio web con un visor panorámico personalizado. Imágenes panorámicas de aproximadamente 4.500 px de ancho. Movimiento horizontal continuo y lento. Sin reproducción de video ni elementos pesados adicionales.

Resultados observados:

En Chrome, Edge, Brave y Opera el desplazamiento es fluido desde el primer instante. En Firefox el desplazamiento comienza con pequeños tirones o saltos visibles. Los tirones disminuyen progresivamente y desaparecen después de aproximadamente 4 a 12 segundos, dependiendo de la cantidad de panorámicas activas. Una vez estabilizado, el movimiento es completamente fluido. El comportamiento se reproduce incluso utilizando una sola imagen panorámica. Si existen varias panorámicas, el síntoma vuelve a aparecer cada vez que una nueva imagen entra en pantalla.

Pruebas realizadas:

Se descartó que el problema estuviera relacionado con transiciones entre imágenes. Se descartó que estuviera relacionado con programación o temporizadores. Se probó con una sola imagen activa. Se probó utilizando distintos métodos de desplazamiento. El comportamiento sigue siendo exclusivo de Firefox.

La impresión es que Firefox requiere algunos segundos para estabilizar el renderizado o la decodificación de imágenes panorámicas anchas antes de alcanzar una animación completamente fluida.

¿Existe alguna recomendación específica para animaciones panorámicas continuas de gran ancho en Firefox?

Have used Firefox for years, always do current updates. Still using Win10. After browsing for a few minutes, hard drive activity increases and the mouse and keyboard become unresponsive, returning very briefly for a second or two, before once again being unresponsive. After 10 min. or so, system returns to normal. This only happens while using Firefox. MS Edge, with all the same extensions, has no problem. Have searched many times, but no useful help is found. Have already un-checked hardware acceleration, and cleared caches, Am ready to give up and switch to Edge. Any help?

On a random basis, sites like msn.com, yahoo mail or outlook.com will freeze. Sometimes they may suddenly come back to life, but the normal fix is delete tab and restart tab. Long videos may also freeze. Have cleared history, and changed optimization setting but nothing helps. On 151.0.2 64 bit.

I have a 2021 IMAC desktop OS 13.7.8 In the last few days I have updated to Firefox 150.0 since then, my computer will not sleep if Firefox is open even if I select the Apple menu---sleep to manually make it sleep, it goes dark and comes back awake within 5-10 seconds. I CANNOT get it to sleep with Firefox open. If I close FIrefox, then I can get it to sleep. ANy windows that I keep open are windows I have had open for weeks and this did not affect the IMAC;s ability to sleep in the previous version of FIrefox. The only thing that has changed is FIrefox so I am telling you there is a problem...PLEASE fix it asap.

YES.....I have , as suggested in help sources.....done these..... 1)Settings > Privacy & Security > Autoplay and set it to "Block Audio and Video" 2)about:config in the address bar, search for media.video-wakelock, and set it to false

Whenever I launch a YouTube video, It starts then the whole page freezes. No links work and no menus shows up when I click my mouse. I can do nothing to get the video to unfreeze. All I ca do is close the window.
