For the last 2 weeks I started having problems with Firefox working consistently. Sometimes only tabs crash, sometimes Firefox crashes. It is not tied to any actions, a tab can crash even if you don't perform any actions in the browser. I have tried clean install on Fedora and Vanilla OS, native and Flatpak packages. The result is always the same - tabs or Firefox crashes every few minutes.

I just started getting this error:

Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.newsmax.com.

I cannot find how to make this stop. I will get emails from Newsmax about articles and if there is something I want to read I click on the link in the email. I never had a problem with Firefox not opening the link. This just started and I can not get the link to open. I have Newsmax set up as a home setting. However, after I got the Secure Connection Failed error, I could not open the Newsmax web page even if I typed in www.newsmax.com. I am about to uninstall Firefox and use another browser. Can you please tell me how to fix this?

I have no problem playing videos from any site except for abc.com. For months now these videos just don't play. I've tried removing my ad blockers, cleared the cache & cookies. Still nothing. Until recently this was not a problem. Now I have to resort to using a different browser to watch these videos. It's only when I use FF that I have this problem.

I use Mozilla Firefox for work. Part of my work requires I use the GlobalProtect VPN client. When I log on to the VPN, everything appears to be fine. The problem arises when I log out of the VPN client, such as needing to switch to a different VPN.

When I log out of the VPN client, Mozilla slows down massively. I get the following errors when trying to access websites.

PR_END_OF_FILE Timeout

I thought it was a DNS issue, but the change I made previously did not prove to be a reliable fix, and I do not actually know the root cause of what is happening. Firefox returns to normal ONLY after a full computer restart. At this point I am considering switching browsers as, despite Firefox's functionality, it is starting to interfere with my work.

I have used other VPNs, such as Fortigate VPN, and not encountered anything like this.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

I've got a question/suggestion about Picture in Picture feature. Why "Close" button works the same as "Back to Tab"?

Scenario: Close the Picture in Picture video by clicking on the [X] button or Cmd+W shortcut.

Actual result: Picture in Picture closes and Firefox window opens, on the tab containing the video. This is very strange behaviour. If I close the video, I don't want to watch it now. Essentially "Close" button works exactly like "Back to Tab" button - so what's the point? If I wanted to switch to the tab - I would click on "Back to tab".

Expected result: I expect Picture in Picture video to close and nothing else to happen. Don't open the window/tab containing the video.

Can't pinpoint the date, but a while back Youtube won't play videos anymore. It just shows a black screen in the player. Not even the player UI (pause button, volume, settings menu) shows. Just a black portion of the screen. Now when I went in to get a screenshot, it doesn't even show the black box.

I have Hulu live tv streaming and the video is not streaming. I get a black screen when I select a channel or an item from the library. This also happens when I try to stream local tv stations' 24 hr streaming sites. Other streaming services (Disney+, ESPN+, Netflix... etc) stream just fine. Hulu works perfectly in Microsoft Edge but I truly prefer not to use it. I've been using Firefox for years. This has happened after the latest update of Firefox. The update before this latest I experienced a similar problem and using the trouble shoot mode narrowed it down to a problem with Adblocker Ultimate extension. I deleted the extension and reinstalled it and the problem corrected. I did the same this time and no success. I have cleared the cache and reset Firefox and still the problem exists. TIAF any help.

When trying to use one particular website on Firefox, I get a message that I am blocked because of an ad blocker but I have not turned on any ad blocker in Firefox. How do I find out if an ad blocker is enabled on my Firefox and, if so, how do I turn it off? I have ensured that the ad blocker option in settings is unchecked and even added this web site to permissions but to no avail. Can someone help? Here is the message I get but none of the steps in this message I am told to take show up on my screen:

PROBLEM: After a restart of Windows 10 and re-starting Firefox, a Firefox window with a YouTube web page in a tab will start playing unbidden. When multiple Firefox windows with multiple tabs each are in use multiple YouTube videos will start playing. (Only one of possibly multiple YouTube tabs per FireFox window, I believe.) The cacaphony is annoying. Tracking down the offending tabs is difficult. (There is no "Show tabs playing media" feature in Firefox.)

QUESTIONS: (1) How do I prevent Firefox from playing media (YouTube and others) unbidden when Firefox re-starts and re-loads its tabs? (2) How do I quickly find which Firefox windows have a tab that is playing media? (3) How do I quickly find which Firefox tabs are playing media? (4) How can YouTube videos be prevented from automatically starting when a Firefox web page with that video is re-loaded?

I tried the troubleshooting mode, which turns off all the add-ons. Despite that, my Firefox still lags. For example, when I click on a new tab, it takes a couple of seconds to open. When I am typing, it takes a few seconds every now and then to catch up. Additionally, when I am scrolling, it will be unresponsive for a couple of seconds before jumping to where I supposedly scrolled to. I am using Mint Linux Firefox 128.0.3. Hi. For the past few months I have been unable to play samples from the Audible website in Firefox on my android phone. When I click the word "Sample" Audible opens up a new tab with their Web player and I always get an error message that is just a rectangular box with an exclamation mark inside a triangle on the left side of the box. (Screenshot attached.) There are no words inside the box and the only option is to close the tab. Since there is no actual message I'm not sure what the problem is.

Playing samples used to work fine when you could play them within their web page before Audible changed its system. I seem to be able to play samples on Audible's Web player in Chrome, but would prefer to keep Firefox as my default browser. I have tried deleting all history, cookies and cache; closing and reopening Firefox; turning phone off and starting again after an hour. I've also tried enabling autoplay, but that made no difference. I was thinking that the issue may be with my other settings within Firefox, but I can't tell. Any help you can provide would be great. all my tabs from open session disappeared?!?!?

and no way to restore it; the option disappeared and I never erased it or close any of the tabs manually and it was on sync. Where did they all go ? I can see now the history from my laptop mixed with my mobile under the history tab but the session disappeared?!?!

Firefox use to be EXCEPTIONAL and 2 years ago it star5ed to go downward; please convince me to stay loyal and not switch to brave or opera; this is becoming worst every months.

Libraries have been updated from rpm packages of Fedora distribution fc21.x86_64 to satisfy the requirements for Firefox 128 and now following versions of relevant libraries and packages are installed:

X.Org 1.14.4, libstdc++ 4.8.3, glibc 2.18, libglib 2.42.1, GTK+ 3.14.5

NetworkManager-0.9.9.0, dbus-1.6.30, GNOME 3.10.0, PulseAudio 5.0

Updating to newer version of Fedora is not possible option for me now.

Firefox 128.0.3 tarball has been unpacked to /usr/local/lib64/firefox128

Executable bash script, /usr/local/bin/firefox128 has been used to launch Firefox 128, it contains two lines

Existing file $HOME/.mozilla has been temporarily renamed to avoid hardly possible conflicts while testing the new version of Firefox. (Later I have found that this is not necessary because new installs

of Firefox do not conflict with the previous).

Problem

Execution of the bash script, firefox128 from gnome-terminal command line started Firefox 128 but without GUI. Only the small white interval at left upper corner of the desktop appeared and it could be extended by using mouse to empty (white) window created by Gnome and titled, Firefox.

Observations

After Firefox 128.0.3 started the output of the command, ps -flu username revealed,

Motivation

The effect just described looks very strange but may be common to older versions of Linux distributions still being used by number of people with various motivations.

Various institutions, particularly banks, require "newest" versions of a browser and I am afraid that Firefox 95.0.2 working in my system will be very soon considered outdated that will result in lack of electronic access to bank account.

Therefore solving the problem just presented appears to be important.

When I copy something to my clipboard I can paste it into Firefox. Into web pages and also into the URL bar.

But when I copy something in Firefox, it does not go to the clipboard. The clipboard still hast the content which was already there.

Also strange: When I cut text in a textarea, input element or the URL bar, the text is removed. But it is not sent to the clipboard. When I cut and paste, the text I get is what was previously in the clipboard.

What could be the cause? How can I debug this problem?

Hello support. Since your last update, the "Allow cookie" popup is no longer displayed in the Firefox incognito tab on our site which leads to all functions being blocked. We have tried to identify the problem, but on different computers with the same (current) version of Firefox, we have the result that sometimes the popup is displayed and sometimes not. Why does Firefox block our “Allow cookies” popup in the private window?

I've been trying to watch live sports events on SECN+ through my Hulu subscription, but I'm encountering an error message stating, "The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported." I discovered that Firefox is blocking the stream, while it works perfectly on Chrome. With the college football season and other sports events approaching, I’m concerned that if this issue persists, I may have to stop using Firefox, which I've relied on for over two decades. I was working on strengthening my passwords using firefox as my browser and roboform. I had a us bank site open also at the time. I did not change that user id or password. However, ever since then I am unable to sign in to my us bank site. It brings up the site but as soon as I click to sign in, it greys the screen. I am able to sign in to every other site I have tried on the firefox browser. I am also able to sign in to my us bank site on at least two other browsers without issue. What has happened and how can I fix firefox to allow me to use it? The us bank site is not an app. Thank you.

So, I'm switching from Chrome and there's this one thing I can't seem to be able to replicate in firefox.

When I start my day I usually open several tabs from different pages of the same website. In Chrome, I would do that by: -typing the name of the website in my address bar -all the pages I frequently visited in that website show in my suggestions -I middlemouse-click all of them, one after the other -this opens one new tab for all of them -I then switch to those tabs and browse them

However, replicating this in firefox seems impossible. When middle-mouse-clicking the 1st link, I would have my window forcibly switch to it, not letting me open the other tabs without changing tabs again. Recently I learned I can avoid this forced switch by middle-mouse-clicking the URL on my address bar while holding shift, which is great! . . . Except it still closes my address bar, not letting me click the other ones without having to type the website's name in it again.

I don't mind holding shift (though I wish I didn't have to) but I really just want to middle mouse click multiple links in my address' suggestion bar and open them in succession, without shifting back to it after each time.
